Even though i'm playing with only one pro wedge... the 64degree TM ... i find that partial hits are very accurate. anything between 15-50 yards... i can usually drop it within 2 yards of the pin. rough or fairway...

Am i just lucky or do the people complaining about partial swings on wedges not being accurate need more practice? would appreciate some light on this subject, as i use the partial full shot with wedges a LOT.

<50 yards has little to no effect from wind. That's a major factor.

Also, if you use +/- spin for +/- 5 yard distance control, this is thrown out the window with partial swings on Pro wedges which is why most Masters use 3+ wedges. I use 4. The closer you are to full swing, the more control and calculation you have against wind and spin.

And , if I might add...much more spin being generated ; if you so wish to use it.

Interesting scenario with spin too. Look at the degree of the wedge and how the spin is affected. The current lofts are 52  54  56  60  64 and the spin affects them all differently, just as you would expect.

On the subject of wedges I have learned a lot about them just playing here. So much so that I have equipped my IRL bag just recently with a Callaway Tour X  60/9 wedge. OMG, where have you been all my life? LOL, I absolutely love it and the spin is filthy (heh-I have until 2024 to use these grooves.)
