No. According to the mayan calendar the end of an era is close.
meaning a different period of existence or sort of a rebirth if you will,
but for some odd reason it was hyped or spinned as an armagedon.

    whatever... :)
I'm fine with both, there is no death,
listen to bill hicks, he got it.

If the Mayans were this smart they should have figured out not to deal with the Europeans many years ago.

I find it hard  to believe that many people really believe that a primitive society (at least in today's view) could predict things this far in the future.  I realize that they were very skilled in viewing and predicting the movement of planets but just because the planets line up every so many thousand years doesn't mean anything except that similar to the date 12/12/12 happening, it will be a while before it happens again

I crawled to the top of that pyramid in Chichen Itza. Not to smart to build the steps so narrow. Took me 15 minutes to get to the top, 1 1/2 hours getting down, sliding on my butt, to keep from falling to the bottom and killing myself. I don't have much faith in their prediction.

You are wrong, The calender only shows an end. It doesn't represent the of the world, just the end of this time line. The day after will start a new. What that will be is a matter of speculation. I'm hoping for first contact. We will still be here on 12-22-12.

The aligning of the sun and the planets in a direct line to the massive black hole at the centre of our galaxy is real science and only happens approx. every 650,000 years, Know one knows what effect this will have on our earth. There is a possibility of gravitational changes, massive solar flares that would have tremendous effect on our communication devices, our atmosphere and so on. There are many signs that the earth is not quite right, more earthquakes and bigger, massive and unusual storms in larger numbers. Things won't happen overnight , but would progress quickly. I hope nothing happens we are in enough trouble as is . And for hells sake lets not have a shifting of the poles.
