    Hello,

I need some help in deciding what irons to get. I am already using the Ping G20 level 59 irons but wanted to upgrade to longer irons since I made Master Tier.

This is what I'm looking for:

More forgiveness - can hit the ding most of the time but when I'm tired would like some forgiveness when I don't . Also would like more options in ball choices.

Little More Precision - better then my G20 irons, when I do miss the ding by a hair , my shots suffer greatly. Usually off by 5-10 yards.

I want to enjoy the game and have a few decent rounds.

I know from other opinions that the R11's are the top of the line but if I can not be consistent in hitting the ding ( sometimes I miss on purpose for shot shaping) I would rather go with the Rocketbladez with more forgiveness.

Just wanted more opinions since there is not much reviews on them in the Pro shop and some are rather outdated.

    Thank You

    Joe

Get the R11's. They are more forgiving and have more spin. This helps combat the lower spin rating from cheaper balls. They also have a 225 3 iron which is more important than it sounds. That extra 5 yards can come into play more times than not.

Bug is right about that extra few yards. However, since you are at Master level, that really wont come into play much. I am legend and have the G20's. Very very forgiving clubs. But i do wish i had those extra few yards sometimes. But again, you are Master, so the long par 3's wont affect you.

Also with the G20's slow swing meter, you can play with cheaper balls if you want. I find it easy to ding or at least close with WGT one dot feel balls, or at the most Srixons.

All just depends what you are looking for. That being said, when i hit L90, im jumping on the R11's :-)

R11's by a mile, they are much more versatile than any club in the pro shop.  It will take you a while to realize how good they are.

Yes that is a major point, being able to use any type of golf ball. Not wanting to spend a fortune on balls just to play with these irons. So I guess the more forgiveness an iron has the more options I have with using different balls.

    Thanks for the feed back

    Merry Christmas

I am a few days away from being eligible for the R11s and will get them, distance, and in particular the spin being the main reason.

What worries me is the swing speed and fear I may have to use Max balls. Im not sure whether my reflexes will cut it with the cheaper balls.

This is a big factor indeed, these are the balls I currently use:

WGT B-ES Balls - like these when out of credits and need some spin

WGT B-XD Balls- like these for added distance

    WGT GI2-S Balls - favorite @ spin,feel, durability

I want an iron set that I can use with these type of balls. I get the GI2-S balls every once in a while when I have the extra credits and mostly play with the B-ES balls.

IMO the L59 G20's are already plenty of club for only the master tees. Perhaps sharpen your play with those clubs before upgrading and spending credits chasing something that's not there.

If you buy the R11's now you won't have to upgrade anymore for a long while. You could now use the video credits to buy the better balls.
