Got them last month and spent nearly 2 sleeves of balls mapping them. My results are becoming fairly consistent. Will share data - hit my wall with E-mail.

    Proruff:

I'm looking at both these sets now but my question is:

With the clubs I have now (if anyone wants to check them out), what should I get to replace the WTD 3W if I got either set?

(ie. if I was to get the bladz, what would be best between them and the G20 driver I have now, and the same question for the G20 irons?  I'm not interested in upgrading the driver at this time.)

Of course, if it turned out to be the same club, I'd end up sitting on the fence again LOL.

BTW I seem to adapt well to different meter speeds, so that's probably not an issue.

    TIA

I would get the G20 3 wood lvl 81+ , and upgrade the driver as well .Even though you can handle different meter speeds , it is better to try to balance out your meter speed , as much as possible . I have both the G20 L 83+  irons and the L79+ Bladez , and they both play great . But the Bladez do have more bite than the G20s .Hope this helps . Happy Swinging

    Hi Michel,

I agree the G20s are great clubs, I used them for a long time, slower meter and more forgiving than the Bladez. Having said that I did try the bladez and they are very good but a very quick meter speed, especially if you plan to use starters balls.

The downside of switching to other balls for RG etc, is you will have variances in spin and distance - which may ruin your game. The problem using starters balls is that you will never get the best out of any clubs. By using virtually any other ball you will notice a slower meter speed and will get more spin. The Tour SD ball at 65 cr (I think) will offer  a big improvement on the starters ball IMO and will not break the bank if you can scrape in a couple ofsurveys and video views.

I totally agree that's the ball I use since I join preety much just try cally level 33 or something not bad but 250 cred n 65 cred big diff n diff isnt bigg enough so I stick with sd ball

    PBaldwin:

The yardage is too random especially on the 3-5 iron.  In my mapping the yardage can be a 15 yard difference on the 3iron even on a ding.  How am I supposed to determine which yardage to play when it's so randomized?

It also seems like there is less forgiveness than my level 59 G20's even though there is 1/2 bar more.

Significant randomness in distance - on ocassion - is the norm in my recent experience. A proliferation of recent posts in these forums mirror my, and your, experiences in this area.

While I'm at it...I'm also finding lately that some putts go well left/right of the target line right off the putter face. Distressing. I cannot account for this new - to me - situation. The MAX putter I use is a precise tool that holds the line on longer putts like no other putter I've used. The good news is my overall putting continues to improve, regardless of the ocassional oddity. So...If/when WGT debugs this issue, our putting will get that much better! The bad news is that WGT may take six months to address the issue, or ignore it entirely, or this could even be yet another intentional move on their part to add deviation to the game. Who knows?

I used the L59 G20 irons for 20 levels and loved them. The Srixon balls were a perfect fit.

I switched to the L79 RocketBladez and with much practice learned to deal with the fast meter. I found that upgrading to the L48 Nike ball helped as it slowed the meter a bit. Used the RocketBladez until just recently, when I hit L90 and purchased the amazing R11 irons set.

The RocketBladez fast meter trained my reflexes so  adaptation to the even faster meter of the R11 irons has been rather seamless.

Regarding distance variance: I found forgiveness of the RocketBladez to be quite good...EXCEPT when using full backspin. Doing so with the RocketBladez irons sometimes resulted in huge swings in carry distance. The irons offer enough spin - with the proper ball - to allow me to use no spin on most shots. Avoiding full backspin, particularly with long irons, provided me with very consistent distance numbers. Something to consider.

There are definitely programming issues with the RocketBladez irons. The 6-iron was by far the worst offender. Full backspin could result in 20-30 yard losses in distance even when dinging shots. Bizarre and frustrating. I learned to take these occurences as opportunities to better my scrambling skills. So in the end, the high strangeness resulted in my sharpening my short game skills. Always a good thing, yes?

    Good luck to all.

    Rich

I'll have to try using no backspin and see how it goes.  I use full backspin with my irons probably 90% of the time.

    DarkenRahl:

Get the Bladez and drop the fairway woods all together. Until you reach Legend tees the best set up would be adding the 115yd Cleveland wedge to fill the gap between the 125 yd PW of the Bladez and the 100 yd Cleveland.  Even from the tips on certain courses is still a good setup.

As a bladez and before that burner 2.0 fan, I must say DarkenRahl has hit the nail on the head there... the 115 CG wedge is your "sand wedge" to match the increments of 145, 135, 125 pw and 115cg, its a much overlooked club but it shouldnt be. When you need three wedges drop the 100 yd CG and stick with the 115 (your sw) 80 and 60, the 115 wedge punches 96 yds very acurately and with a few pixels off from full topspin (depending on green slope) it will go 100yds consistently... no need to pack a 100yd wedge. job done.

I have the bladez and have rented the high end G20s.

There is not a vast difference between them but having the Bladez I not going to get the G20s.

You get a slower meter and more forgiveness with the G20s. You get more precision and more spin on the bladez but slightly faster meter and less forgiveness. It's a fair trade tbh. It's just about preference, I don't think you should be too worried whichever set you get.

Regarding the Bladez, I prefer the distances (slightly longer) but the 4 iron at 205 does not hit 205 - it hits under 200. It's a redundant club for me because it's so innacurate.

If i want to hit 205 I get out my 3 iron at 220 and hit it a bit softer.

Also they are not very fogiving if you shank them a fairbit and with the wind. Otherwise I really like them. I am not sure if I will upgrade to the R11s when I get to 90 but will definitely rent them first - not sure there is enough difference to justify another 2500 credits.
