    Corwyn:

    Our leader may be unhappy...

You better believe that... already see the sub 70s flying in as long as the wind set gets a bit more normal.

We saw only one good wind - 24 tail on #14. STA bid us a farewell of 30 in the face :(

The round saw unclenewy and me struggling big time, me on 4 and him on 5. Then he started a streak (9 - 11) but on 12 the putter became bent...

    alosso 78, 61%, 36.6 ft av.

    unclenewy 69, 78%, 34.3 ft av.

    Scores...

    ...and stats

My game pics - tried my best this time!

unclenewys FW pic - he didn't wanna go back from the 18th green :)

69 is a solid job, especially with bad winds. Congrats!

Yes, well done. My best practice so far is 34 on f9 and 37 on b9. Its so easy to get in trouble and get a double bogey!

Just wanted to say that I am disappointed with my first round score (it was the highest I shot  compared to any "practice" round), but I am looking forward to round 2!

Before that, though, I would like to play some more practice with starter clubs. I am starting to believe that this is the way forward for me, insofar as continuing to enjoy the game goes. So if you see me green and want to swat some around, send an invite! I am leaving the starters in my bag and will be ready to go.

    Corwyn:

Phil (Phaxda): as our odd man out at this point, we'll hook you up with a marker for 2nd round (unless franbo returns in time to continue; I will allow him a late first round if he can fit it in soon). FYI: I know for sure that I can mark for you weekday mornings 9:30-noon PST.

Hans, don't beat yourself up for that round, a 71 with those winds are very tough, I have been practicing and have only got +3 as y best so far.                 Brilliant 69 sir, very good!

Hole 7 keeps killing me!  Hope i will be able to play a little catch-up this round to make up for my 1st round!

    Corwyn/Cerino,

Can we mark for someone and not have it count as our round if we haven't posted yet?

I don't mind marking and using it as a practice round until I hook up with Tim.

    Absolutely! That's completely legitimate.

(What you can't do, of course, is play a blinder as a marker, and then decide you want to count that as your real round! Not cool! So, as we've suggested before, it covers your bases to declare in advance when your real round is, and declare publicly when you're merely marking.)

I'm hoping to get practice in too ahead of my real round towards the end of the week.
