    Results for bfghd and ColumbusStorm

Brutal on some of those holes. #7 not being able to reach the fairway makes it a particularly rough hole. I was consistent, played 2 practice rounds and scored a 78 on both.

FYI: although Round 2 is already under way with 3 pairings in the clubhouse, I wanted to wrap up Round 1 by sharing the Full Leaderboard: (right-click, open in new tab, and zoom to enlarge).

    It's a great-looking leaderboard, with Hans holding a 3-stroke lead going into Round 2, over 3 players at +2, and 2 more at +3.

And, the hunt for some of the special prizes is already looking interesting for some of the players lower down on the scoring leaderboard. GIR looks wide open at this stage, while Phil (Phaxda) and Stu (Spino1) have great-looking Ave. Distance to the Pin scores (last Tough-It-Out tourney Stu challenged Hans right to the wire on this Stat prize, getting into the interesting position of tactically avoiding hitting Greens unless he was confident he could get close!). Barry (barrybelfast) is our leading Birdie scorer so far with a very impressive 5 in the first round, and Gary (woodoworkery) is well placed with almost 100 ft in distance made putts, to challenge Russ (ColumbusStorm) and Hans as the front-runners for that prize.

So, as they say, plenty to play for as the majority of the field head over to St Andrews for Round 2!!!

Do note that the Leaderboard link has tabs at the bottom for Overall standings, special prizes, and each round leaderboards (all of which will be updated as we progress).

    --------------------

Please note: joewaters' Ave. Distance stat remains tbc: joe, just waiting on your answer to my PM about whether or not you hit GIR on the par 3s; your playing partners, unclenewy (front9) and MBaggese (back9) could also answer these Q's if they remember:

Did you hit the Green in Regulation on these par 3s?

6th with front pin: Yes/No (you made par)
8th with back pin: Yes/No (you made par)

13th with back pin: Yes/No (you made birdie, so probably yes, you did hit GIR?)
16th with right pin: Yes/No  (you made bogey)

Just played a practice round on St A with the Tourney settings and shot a 67. It figures when it doesn't count the putter was on fire. 27 putts and birdied both the par 3's. 7 birdies total but double bogied the par 5 on the front side after hitting in the fairway bunker for not laying back.

I hope I find half of that in my second round.;-)

    alosso:

We saw only one good wind - 24 tail on #14. STA bid us a farewell of 30 in the face :(

The round saw unclenewy and me struggling big time, me on 4 and him on 5. Then he started a streak (9 - 11) but on 12 the putter became bent...

    alosso 78, 61%, 36.6 ft av.

    unclenewy 69, 78%, 34.3 ft av.

    Scores...

    ...and stats

My game pics - tried my best this time!

unclenewys FW pic - he didn't wanna go back from the 18th green :)

I forgot to take a fairway shot to show lies but Alosso has that covered with his screenshot.

Here is my shot on the 18th.

We had a tough time with 28mph head winds on 5,6,7,8 and9 ! our 1st tail wind was on 10 where we both almost reached the green, and then back to 28mph head wind on 11, which actually helped hold the green. I then missed a 7ft dead staright birdie putt on 12 that went left with a ding (bloody starter putter!). And to top it off we had 30mph headwind on the 18th, couldn't even reach the road.

Anyway we battled through and had a good chat and game despite the adversities.

Also I have found something unusual with the putting stats.

Firstly I holed a 30+ footer on 9 for birdie, which it doesn't show......also it says I had 13 two putts and 4 one putts, which only accounts for 17 holes. I never chipped in and putted on every green. Whereas it shows Pauls stats as the same one and two putts....plus 1 three putt, which accounts for all 18 holes.

Also if you add those putts together mine adds to 30 (13 two putts = 26 + 4 one putts) with one hole missing, but it says I had 29. And Pauls adds to 33 (that three putts or more was a three putt) but it says he had 34.

    This is strange.

Sorry I never took shots of Joes stats, I've just searched to see if I did. I only have shots of the scorecard.

    I agree: strange - but regular :)

It reflects that each of us had a putt from the fringe. These will be in the 1 - 2 - 3 - putts stats below but not in the summary above.

    It happens every time...

Edit: Now I get your point - 17 holes only. Strange indeed!
