Also I have to say what a superb job you have done creating the format and the whole leaderboard and stats tables. That must have taken ages. Very well done.

    Neil

I can't stress this^ enough. Corwyn does an amazing job with the leaderboard, the pairings and the stat tables. I wish I had the skills but I simply don't.

I think I'll be playing my second round this evening. This morning I shot 6 under 66 in a practice round. I missed the ding on three birdie putts that could have had me shoot 9 under.  If only my putter finds heat again tonight. :)

66 is a great round in high winds, you may get lucky and have favourable winds, but if they are in your face it's murder.

I've found that dinging the starter putter is irrelevant, I have figured playing aiming and missing ding works for me. The only putt i dinged on purpose was a 7ft birdie putt that was straight, and it went left!

Have just had my 1st practice on Olympic. Those sloping fairways and elevations are murder with the low flight of the clubs.....managed a 74 in the end.

Another one bites the dust! :) BTW Corwyn, not that it matters, but I made a mistake and entered 2 Birdies or Better on the SA Rd. and it was actually 3 .

FYI: I'm noticing last couple of player's Screenshot posts are showing a Tee Shot rather than an Approach Shot. It's the Approach we need in order to verify Uneven Lies.

    Thanks, Corwyn

I forgot during this last round...1st mistake so please only lash me 20 times?

    LOL

Yup, first mistake... just a minor lashing. Nothing to worry about!

Wow! That's great scoring, Cerino. Hope you can carry it through to the real round. Good luck to you, and to everyone else still to tackle 'The Old.'

Just as suspected, couldn't play up to our practice rounds.

    CD-71........ Reese-86

We took a beating from the wind and Reese got VEM'd right at the first hole. The card says it all.

    woodworkery and JoeWaters 75 / 72

We had a terriiffic wind, should really have done better.

We had starter clubs and balls throughout.

Gary had his CG wedge  , but luckily discovered that mistake on 2nd hole, and restarted.

This format sure can be brutal, but you can't deny it makes an

If the clubs had a bit more precision and distance, and the spin was progressed better down to the wedges, then this could be the golf game that WGT claim it to be. And the stupid 50's would be no more.

    Neil

A number of players who've been around for 2+ years have been saying this point for a long time.

All the clubs need to be recalibrated to lessen their capabilities. Overnight, scores would go back to 62 being a winning score rather than 52. Uneven lies (once managed in a more realistic format) will also improve the core game but making the clubs worse is the key point.

Unfortunately, WGT's business model is to focus on driving revenue through offering progressively improving clubs. Whilst this is great for the casual player who sticks around for a few months and then gets bored, for the long-term player who wants realism it only weakens the product over time.
