Anyone need a marker, or practice, at St Andrews... or want to practice at Olympic for next week?

I have the next 2.5hrs available (5:45-8:15pm GMT).

Further to this message from last night, I've drawn up initial 3rd Round groupings, so that any players available and anxious to get their rounds in this weekend, can perhaps start planning:

Please note: for 3rd and 4th Rounds, we will re-pair players based, as closely as possible on leaderboard position ...

I will make groups of players close to each other on the leaderboard, and then let you arrange to play your 3rd Round with anyone within your grouping with similar time availability.

IMPORTANT: For this to work, everyone's Time Availability as indicated on the signup sheet has to be correct! Please check what's listed for you here. If your times have changed, fill out the form again. It will make a new entry that I can update in the master spreadsheet.

    Here are the tentative groups:

    1st Group will include: Hanswurst72  //  unclenewy  //  Corwyn  //  CerinoDevoti  //  tbc

    2nd Group will includeJimbean346  //  PUHOLINO  //  tbc

    3rd Group will includeColumbusStorm  //  seemorehair  //  iMikeAllStar  //  joewaters  // tbc

    4th Group will includealosso  //  woodoworkery  //  johehejo  //  bfghd  //  tbc

5th Group will includebrhthecarpenter  //  Daboofness  //   mnshiner  //  tbc

Remaining players to play 2nd round: (as at Fri 1/25 noon): [their groupings tbc]

    SPINO1  &  barrybelfast   ///   MBaggese  &  TeeWade   ///   hyena64  &  bhoese    ///   MatildaIgaly  &  MizzyMan   ///   Camotto  &  Macduff10   ///
    Wassernixe  &  FairwayRuepel68   ///   Phaxda

Thanks everyone! Let's keep the momentum going here... It's gone a little quiet. Hoping we'll see some other 2nd round scores soon... !!! (after all, the fun of Olympic is next, lol! If you thought Oakie and The Old were tough, well... just wait!)

Corwyn, I've just linked to the leaderboard as I was reading your latest post on the 3rd round pairings, and noticed you have CerinoDevoti down as having no bogeys in the 2nd round, but it also says he shot 3 birdies and scored a 71?

Dunno if this makes a difference to any category standings at the end, but I thought it better to mention it now instead of it causing a possible fuss later.

Yup, was wrong on the Bogey stat page (but right everywhere else, 3 birdies, 2 bogeys). Thanks for pointing that out! Human error... I really need to link these fields together, so it's automated. All corrected now! (And yes, much better to notice these things now. Thank you!)

(And hey, that means I'm now the sole leader in least # of bogeys... Wow!)

Yup, Gary, it sure is tough. (Are you gonna reveal what you shot... ?)

Tom (seemorehair), that sure is an impressive front 9. How many more times did you practice, after our morning knock-around, lol?

I was just sent the card and screenshots to post from Wassernixe and FairwayRuepel68. They're in the clubhouse with 82 and 83 respectively:

    Leaderboard updated.

Now 11 players left to complete their 2nd Round...

These players have indicated rounds to be played over the weekend:

    MatildaIgaly  &  MizzyMan

    MBaggese  &  TeeWade

Phaxda  &  marker   (please put out a call for a marker at a time that works, Phil)

But haven't heard anything yet from the following folks... Are your rounds scheduled?

    SPINO1  &  barrybelfast

    hyena64  &  bhoese

    Camotto  &  Macduff10

Believe it or not it was my only rd after I played with you. I learned alot about hitting approach shots from the fairways. You really have to watch the uneven lies and the uphill shots here. You have to add alot of yardage and make direction adjustments. Its a whole different game! But really I think SA with the high winds may be harder, or at least more unpredictable.

I can be a marker for Phaxda if needed. Anytime over the weekend is fine.

And the above is totally correct you do have to add a lot of yards to your approaches and Lord help you if you get into one of those bunkers
