Hey, thanks! I just added you as a friend - just on briefly this morning but I hope to be back once wife and caddy head out for the day...

    mnshiner:

I can be a marker for Phaxda if needed. Anytime over the weekend is fine.

And the above is totally correct you do have to add a lot of yards to your approaches and Lord help you if you get into one of those bunkers

I have had flash crash twice today, so it is possible it is not on your end. Also seen another post somewhere today about a person having the same problem. After I re-started everything is fine now.

Well, another magnificent round in the can.  Cam played well, but was booting his short putts for some reason.  I know there will be questions out there because I did not get a screen shot of myself on the fairway, hence I can't prove we played unevens. I can only give you my word at this point.  Sorry about my shortcomings, doing the screen shots for both of us on a short night's sleep is not a strength of mine. So here goes:

Your word's good for me, Mac!

I know it's an extra challenge to be responsible for someone else's shots, so thank you for taking that on, especially on little sleep. So, no worries, you're good ...

... but I'm not seeing the Approach stats tab. Any chance you've got that on your computer? I'd hate to see you both ruled out of the running for those special prizes...

    Cheers, Corwyn

Sorry Corwyn, that's another thing that got past me.  I am such a dope.

Oh, rats! And that tab is more important than the Scoring or Driving ones... aaargggh!

Well, I think you'd better get in touch with Camotto and make a plan. If you don't mind ruling yourselves out of the GIR and Ave. Distance prizes, then submit the score as is...

If you do want to try again, you can: here are the guidelines that apply: (they were written with disconnects in mind, but the part about stats also applies)

If you have a disconnect mid-round and you want to stay in the running for any of the stats-related special prizes, you have 2 choices:

    a. Start over, losing your score from the disconnected game.

    b. Finish the game to complete your scorecard (and/or help your partner finish), knowing that those stats won't be able to be submitted... and then, play another round (with a marker if needed) for the purpose of the stats: however, since you could play the 2nd round purely to gain a specific type of good stat, the score you submit shall be the average (rounded up) between the 2 scores, or the first score, whichever is the worst.

For example: I eventually shoot 72 in a broken-up game. I play again to get a complete stat set, but this time shoot 79 (cos really I'm just trying to hit GIR and my putting sucks from 80+ft). I get to post my fabulous GIR stats, but my score gets adjusted to a 76 (72+79 = 151/2 = 75.5 rounded up to 76).

Hopefully this is a fair way of providing some penalty, and preventing abuse.

Let me know if you have any questions (and it would be fine for either of you to play with a marker this weekend for the purpose of the stats round).

    Sorry!

    Corwyn:

    joewaters:
OK if I get it done I offer up the following

Sleeve of Callys for the "longest drive on the fairway or green during the whole tournament, and Yes, I can win my own prizes, LOL

Another sleeve of Callys for the guess of how long that winning drive is going to be.

    My guess is 304 yards

Very nice prize offers! Thank you!

Longest drive will certainly be at St Andrews as it's the round with the High Wind, so we'd better all get our guesses in quick. I'm going to try for 318 yards. I assume you'll need to see a Replay in the thread (and perhaps have playing partner confirm that the drive was in the tourney round proper).

Don't forget everyone, that joe (joewaters) made this kind offer of a prize for Longest Drive in the tourney.

Joe, you didn't respond about the proof you wanted to see. Will it work to just use the Driving stats tab if people post it? (I know that won't prove that it reached fairway or green, but it might be the best available proof)? A replay would work too. We got a handful of guesses earlier in the thread: I'm assuming you want to award the 'Guess' prize based on closest guess, yes?

Note: from a quick perusal of the posted scorecards for St Andrews, the longest drive I'm seeing so far was, ironically enough, by Joe's playing partner, Gary (woodoworkery) with 310.34 yds! Wow! Which hole was that, Gary?

Remaining 2nd Round players, don't forget to try for this prize! St. Andrews with high winds represents your best chance.

    I ninja'd Gary with a 310.52 on the 12th...a difference of 6 1/2 inches!

David (hyena64) and I are in the clubhouse with scores a couple of strokes higher than we were shooting for.  We had a great time with lots of wacky shots and unfortunate winds.  We had screaming 30 MPH tails and front pins on both par 3s.  David refused to par a hole on the front because he has a thing for circles and squares.  He hit a lot of great iron shots and wedges.  My putting was much improved over Oakmont and could have been extraordinary...but I left a 45 footer three inches short and lipped one out from 80+.
