i've been keeping an approx count on new player id's added to WGT during the month of December .. about 108 000 new id's added during December ..

thats a lot .. one has to wonder:

     - how many of those are multi's

     - how many will play the game once or twice and never again

     - how many will end up being new regular players .. 4%, 5% ?

thats still helluva lotta new business for WGT ..

a serious contender for WGT would be good IMO .. something new that takes the golf sim game experience forward .. to the next level

there's one being developed right now .. will still take some time before it's released, but it'll be a quantum leap forward considering all the game play features being developed by them ..

it'll be a welcome alternative for me .. something new to sink my teeth into with almost limitless possibilities ..

i love WGT and what they provide & will never quite abandon the sight .. i think

but a kick-a$$ contender to challenge the monopoly will be a breath of fresh air ..

Multi's... I'd say about 5%, although the members who feel the need to check that crap out  will say much higher.

One night stands .... that depends on the demographic.  For the 35+ crowd maybe 50-60%. Probably closer to 75-80% between 20-35.  And for that goup under 20, it wouldn't surprise me if over 90% left after a handful of games ..... WGT just doesn't provide that instant gratification ( or it could just be that kids today seem to have the attention span of a gnat).

Regulars.... Again, depends on the definition and the demographic.  Daily players would be a fairly low number but, if you consider regulars to be those that play a couple times/week or several times/month, WGT might keep upwards of 30%.

You forgot to add the ones that get opened just so an XY player gets the free sleeve of Srixons and remain L1 150 avg hacks forever. You'd be surprised how many of those there are.

As for the new game, I wish I had funds to help with the kickstart (they do not accept credits, do they?). I won't quit this game cause of the friendships I made, but I'd appreciate a new challenge very much.

90% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

IMO you're not too far off jeff.  I did some work back in November trying to get a handle on what % of players stuck around.  It came out to 18 to 20%.  Here's the thread. The answer to: "How many players stick around?"

...and 11 out of 10 can't do math.
