I think the problem lies in that you yourself had quoted such a large body of text and we have only selected the bit we want  relevant to what we wanted to respond to. Which was within your own quote.

Otherwise we would have to quote your WHOLE post, and thats how threads get to 57 pages.

All i did was edit my post and changed your name to pizzas. Of course if this forum worked you would be able to click on the posted quote icon and it would direct you back to the original post quoted. Which in my edit would have taken it back to your post anyway,.

there really isnt any way to avoid that in future either unless we go to pizza's original quote in some other thread somewhere.

well, reading the last few pages i'm beginning to notice a trend .. might it be my imagination ?

but Pizza's comments to some posts seem to sometimes include cleverly veiled & controlled ridicule and contempt .. not only on this thread either

perhaps having to face the fire, virtually single handedly, becomes too much after a while .. i try to imagine sitting at the other end of my screen having to "field" one scathing post after another .. must really mess with one's composure

can't really say i blame the guy .. this is all on WGT .. and their hilarious marketing dept ..

    Rockitch:
"We are very sorry for the fact that bug fixing and game improvement is at a near stand still. This subject will from now on be priority number 1. Furthermore we now understand that we should at least bring out a bug fix report with every update, (editorial note: like every software company does,) and in general we should and will from now on communicate more, better, clearer and earlier so the kind of dissatisfaction that is currently rushing over the forums will very soon be a thing from the past. Given time we will as well come up with something to make things right with the most loyal players, who rightfully felt insulted by the latest changes in the elite collection.

Thanks Rock --- I really don't like to stand up for WGT ... and I don't like to argue either but .. the truth is ... at this point with this tread of nonsense even if WGT says something ---  this will it make everyone (heck anyone)  happy ?   Personally I don't think so.

This went from no gift cards and ridiculously over priced custom avatars --- to a witch hunt.

To reflect on your thoughts above:

    • For 3 years bugs which are fixed are discussed by the forum moderators in the forum.  There never have been and i doubt there will ever be bug reports.   Not the way WGT has ever worked.    (By the way .. i could be wrong but fixing bugs was never part of the original thread .. was it ?)
    • Communications is not very crisp -- never has been -- the Forum Moderators are on their own.   Should it be this way ?  Probably not ... but that's the way it is.
    • The only players who are "insulted" with the changes to the elite collection are the few who could collect enough credits for gift cards ... and/or ... the ones who are dying for custom avatars .. and will never get them.

Was it dumb to price them at 500K credits ?   Of course it was ....  but all this drivel is out of hand.    If I ran the company .. would I have done that ??? Heck no ..... but at this point if I had to answer this thread I would address the 2 issues.

    1) Gift cards are no longer available .. sorry most of you didn't see the thread we posted on 12/17 .... and 2) at this point we have no intention of releasing a custom made avatar and the elite collection was something we were having fun with.

    Again .. just my thoughts.

Added: .. And Chris5214 is dead on with his note above.

    Here's how I see it-

WGT never intended to sell custom avatars for 500,000 credits, they really want to sell them for 10,000 credits (which is still a lot). So, knowing that we would all balk at paying 10,000 credits, they offer them up for 500,000, get everybody all worked up (like we currently are), then come back a week later and say "we've heard you, so we are lowering the price to 10,000 credits"......and then laugh their way to the bank as people start buying them up.

    Just my opinion.

That may be so but you have to question the business-logic behind this, if any. While it is true the few players who are able to cash out the vouchers are an expense, though I doubt a considerable one, to WGT, it is important to have an avenue to cash out so the aspiring players can invest in premium tournaments. If I were a new player I doubt I would invest real $ in the hopes of amassing the 500,000cr required to alter the appearance of my avatar. In fact the only remaining motivation to play credit games is to fund equipment.

To me it seems WGT has shot its self in the foot, and as a returning addict I find this saddening.

EDIT: mrcaddie that may be their intention. If I remember correctly they did the same with the Cabo green fees.

Sure, the reactions are over the top, and sure - most of us dont really give a damn of whats in the elite collection. This thread is not about that, it is about the rust for WGT as a company. It is about trust. Lost trust. WGT should see us as partners in any relationship. You stick around until you make the decision to leave. When that decision comes, it is not because of one thing only. It is because  you do not see any future for that relationship.

Since we have invested time and money in this relationship we want it to last. We really do. But when we see that our partner is behaving like an ***, well, we realise there  is probably no future. When we realise that, we do not want to invest more. We also want to talk about it. Maybe there is a misunderstanding? WGT does not talk, it just sends out the bell boy to smile and tell us all is well.

Maybe it is not us threatening to leave them, maybe it is simply them leaving us?

Oh, forgot. for $1000 it talks.
