    Or to eliminate a liability on a balance sheet that you need to get whatever you're after.

    Well said.

    alcaucin:
    a cognitive response is warranted ?

    That chicken flew the coup back on page 6? When Pizza first joined in.

    It won't happen, much to our speculation.

    The opportunity for this 'awesome' 'marketing dept'. to come up with some kind of spin on their motivation for this action has passed.

    I feel any response they offered now would be shallow gobbedegook and likely to add another 70 pages of disbelief to this thread.

    It just won't happen.

    Unless, they follow through with a couple of the forums other thoughts of possibilities;
    Eg; MrCaddy - "we hear you and will reduce the price of avatars to 10,000cr"

    alcaucin:
    just GIVE something back once in a while ?

    I honestly can't imagine we will ever experience this.

    The Christmas period saw their sales increase due to the perpetuation created by LC in Random Acts of Generosity.

    WGT acknowledged it whilst carefully ignoring it..

    Their display of generosity in the past has given us;

    A single GI - SD ball for Christmas
    Free Rental period in the pro shop, which is geared to incite revenue
    Free SpeedBoost also geared to incite revenue

    WGT see their customers as Cash-Cows & we will continue to whine and moan & take it bent over, all to provide their entertainment for...

    YankeeJim:
    drinks after work Friday

    We have golf bags that are faulty & impedent, yet still offered for sale to the unknowing.
    This is their 'style'. This is who we are dealing with.

    Yes they most definitely do take the liberty upon us to;

    alcaucin:
    TAKE the P.iss

    PS. Has anyone wondered why they recently added a CTTH course built in 2008/9 that has a faulty pin marker/ flag on hole  ummm. .#5 / 6? ?

    Why we didn't get it earlier?

    Why now?

    Why still the flawed pin marker?

    Its a well thought out idea Shrude, but do you seriously think that this was the effect of that?

    To be honest, i think WGT are doing what they can to combat this type of thing.

    after seeing everything that has unfolded it was a brilliant business move . not only did they remove any outta pocket pay out , in the process and because of doing so they brought several states into playing premium games in witch they will get their rake . sure they risk losing the top10% players that have made their credits but now they have thousands , tens of  thousands new players to fleece ....

    Not at all, I didn't mean to imply that.

    Taken in context;

    WGT experienced generosity, they benefited from an increase in sales, yet gave NOTHING back.

    64 pages and this is the first mention I have seen of this fact. This alone is what I think it all boils down to in the eyes of WGT's marketing dept. The 20% rake they will take in from the added ready-go players will more than cover any revenue lost by losing some of the top players. Keep in mind, the players who are purchasing gift cards with credits are not making real deposits to buy credits. Those players offer nothing $$$-wise to the site, the site in turn decided to offer nothing to those players in return.

    BTW - don't forget that Pizza did state that there will be more offerings to come in the elite collection.

    I got something.

    For what it is worth, I am glad they took out the gift cards.  Now I can play tournaments with a reasonable expectation of placing decent enough to earn some credits to buy balls or clubs.

    In a way, it saves me time from doing surveys and what not to get the credits.  Now I can focus on playing a decent game instead of sitting here for 30 mins to get 50c... BTW thank you to the two gentlemen that sent me some golf balls, it was much needed and appreciated.

    WGT has given back to the community, they have introduced us to a good time and the ability to enjoy hours of fun.

    oxymoron there.

    I hear your sentiment LC, but compared to the WGT archives and what I have been reading regarding their marketing in 2008.

    Something/ someone has seriously changed their outlook.

    Reading these archives shows they were FAR more community focused than they are now.

    Regular product and bugfix logs
    Listing MANY tourney winners for tangible prizes inc. Amazon gift cards.

    Heads up on update closures what to expect.

    Game tips
    Mice tips

    More regular community highlights and displays of prizes won.

    Addressing meter swing and regular updates to fix this.
    Bugs list and what was and wasnt fixed

    I think WGT is close to selling out and at this stage in he game they are not in any manner concerned as to what the customers think or how they feel. I PP gets off the ground that may the route to take....

    all i can say at this point is that i find the absence of any kind of formal response from the WGT brass to this thread rather conspicuous ..
