    hello

this thread is to try and help players tame there jumpy meter ...

1st of all i use a browser for searching the internet ie. google chrome.

2nd i use another browser for playing wgt ONLY, ie. maxthon.

i dont even check my msgs or the forums on maxthon only on google chrome.

so 1 browser for searching 1 for playing wgt only.

always remember to clear cache and flash every time u log on to wgt.

always close down the wgt main page or profile page only keep the the screen open that u play wgt on.

so if u listen to music on youtube while playing, use the browser u use for searching

and while u use your 2nd browser to play wgt it should not have any effect.

im not saying its a miracle worker, its just what has worked for me

i understand the more experienced wgt players will probebly know this already

but ......if i only help 1 player on here with this i will be happy

    :)

Well I have always followed these tips, I use comodo for my playing, and since the last update, after cleaning and clearing and updating the latest version of flash, I'm happy to report, they messed with the meter and messed it up but good.

I had a good meter, not great, but now it sux.

I noticed the update after i noticed the meter.

I updated the flash to try and fix, un-installed every single plugin, tried different browser etc.

    It's done but good now.

I just don't think they give a rats patooty about meter performance, why on earth would they insert yet another timer process into the meter with all the complaints about meter performance since the last update.

Hey Steve - I'm using Maxthon and haven't had a single hiccup on the meter since the update.

All your other tips are solid. But doing this is a big mistake. First clearing your cache does not help the meter whatsoever. But the biggest problem with clearing your cache that often is the loading times. All the course data and pictures are stored in your flash cache and if you clear every time you log on you have to load all the data a pictures back in and that takes much longer than preloading  what is stored in cache. WGT recommends only clearing your cache after an update or if you are getting some very weird results.

    o i didnt know that.

i actually got the tip from one of your posts borntobesting about only using 1 single browser for wgt only.

i clear cache every day and never had any problems with loading and wat not, but i will take your advice on board

I also use GameBooster 3.5   It helps my meter problems most of the time, but i still get spiked on the meter randomly.Even on short putts.

i used google chrome yesterday although i did hit some ok rounds in the ready go's i noticed a big difference from using maxthon.

i noticed i had to hit the mouse clicker alot earlier on google than maxthon, alot earlier.

meter was super smooth but got caught out a few times as i wasnt used to clicking that early .

    has anyone else noticed this?

clear cache is easy on maxthon but im not quite sure how on google chrome as i dont use it that often for wgt only for forum posts.

Click on the tools icon (could be a gear, could be 3 horizontal lines), click on TOOLS, click on Clear Browsing Data. You will have an option to clear several items such as cache, cookies, history, etc. I only choose to clear cache. If you click cookies you'll have to reset your game options.
