So good to see this thread is very much alive and kicking. Only hope that the earlier ones are still being read by those who are just now posting. Either way, it's good to learn about your new friends.........................................GV

What a truly great thread. I have been logged on for over 3 hours today and have yet to play a game as I stumbled upon this thread.

My name is Darryl and I am 62 years young. I have been married to Isabell for 35 and a half years and do not know what I would do without her. Over the last 20 years my hearing has deteriated to the point where I can hear but have very great difficulty in distinguishing sound due to the cochlear hair in my right ear being almost non existent  ( damn but I wish they would fix the typing program ) and being totally deaf in the left ear due to a perforated ear drum. My wife has basically become my ears. Due to this deafness I lead a very restricted social life and for that reason I enjoy the friendship that WGT brings me and the fact that I can "hear and understand" what people are saying". I took early retirement from my job of 35 years in May of last year...which was about the time I signed up to WGT. I come from a relatively big family...My eldest brother is deceased (25 years ago )..she who would have been my eldest sister died at 6 months (cot death ).next in line is a sister living in Australia.. then another brother ( deceased last year ) then there is yours truly followed by another sister living in Australia another brother. . followed by yet another brother ( this one was adopted out and we only tracked him down 15 years ago....can't get rid of him now, LOL )...then there was a bit of a lull and then lo and behold 7 years later there was yet another sister.

I left school at age 15 and went straight into a jockey apprenticeship. I was not a very successful rider although I did manage to ride 3 winners. My WGT name is the name of the horse that I had 2 of those wins on.

We have 2 children and3 grandchildren. The profile picture is of the grandchildren who to me are the "A Team"...Angus, Aurora and Alyssa.

and Holy crap all those Siblings!!!   Did your Mum n Dad eventually work out what caused that?

That horse name is very familiar! But I think it might be Lelani I am thinking of. well done having 2 wins that must have put you on top of the world!

the A team look great Darryl, you must be very proud. (more women you cant hear :)

    Happy WGT'ing

Another great read and nice to see the renaissance of this thread.

I currently live in New Zealand, and as beautiful as the country is, it is WAY to cold for me lol. Also I have to go into hibernation when the Wallables play the All Blacks :)

But the one bonus of the cold weather is all you need to do is crank up the heating, switch the PC on and you have some of the worlds best courses to play.

Enjoy retirement Darryl and nice to meet you!

LOL...that is what my sisters reckon when they come home, could be in the middle of a heat wave here and they will say it is too cold

Don't know how I missed this one, as much as I read the forums while at work lol.

My name is Hazen,  turned 35 today.  Have been married 16 years and have a 13 and 7 year old daughter.  Went into the military two weeks after graduating high school.

I now work at a local community college helping Veterans use their military college funds and I too am using mine.  Gets to be long days at the college when I work there during the day and have to take my classes at night.  Sometimes being at the college from 8am to 11pm.  It's the reason I have to keep up with the forums while at work.  Heck even a few computer classes in the past I'd keep up during lectures lol.

I took the summer semester off so I could play some more WGT and join a summer golf league.  So,  I guess I should go over to the "you know you play too much wgt if...." thread from here lol.

    See ya's on the course

    Happy Birthday Hazen -

Hope you can enjoy the day playing golf  IRL and here on WGT.

I golfed this AM with my wife and now I can relax with a few rounds on WGT.

    Nothing better than that

I am so pleased to see the new posts. Hats off to all, your stories are inspiring and rest assured their are members who care who you are. I certainly do. I have never been a computer person (too old). When I found WGT it became my little escape from work. I have made so many great friends that I wish I knew in person. We would have such a great time. I can honesty say that what you know about Old Squirrel Nutz is 100% totally the truth. I have nothing to hide, really nothing to be ashamed off, except for the Preachers daughter back in 1968, but he gave me hell and forgave me. Keep them coming.
