Not Really. I've put about 25 usd in it and the rest has come from earning credits. Right now I can sustain my habit that way.
A round on the local muni course runs about 20 usd on average for about 3-4 hours of play .That same 20 will get you 100's of hours [not counting balls:)] of play here.
I've been gaming over 25 years have easily spent over a grand on games and peripherals, not counting building my own computers.Between my racing sims, Train sims, and military sims I've figured is cost me about 0.3 cents an hour or less to "play". Not to mention all the "people" I've met along the way.
On topic:
Everygame has cheaters and always will. They are like the Herpes of the virtual world. I use to run a game server for a couple years. You can't stop them 100%, But you can keep the mayhem at a reasonable level.
