Buying Golf Ball With Money ( no credits )

  I bought a 3 pack of Nike Golf Balls with real money and as I played WGT took my Nike golf balls away. Why? If I bought them with money shouldn't I own them forever? Real golf balls don’t go bad as they are used. My brother and I golf and we have golf balls that have lasted for many years and are still going.

  Obviously you dont care about how you play then.  Golf balls do go bad over time, and that is why tour players are always changing their balls.  Using around 3-5 balls through 4 rounds.

   

  That is like saying a baseball can be used for years and years.

  The site has to be paid for and in my opinion this is the best way. At least you have the choice of buying balls or not.

  Crowwe, it seems you have a misunderstanding of how the game does things.

  It doesn't matter if you buy premium (anything other than starter) golf balls with real money, or if you purchase them with credits you have earned. The golf balls only have a certain amount of lifespan that will steadily go down each time you hit the ball.

  Just on the point of real golf balls I read this article, and thought of it here:

   

  When to Change Balls

  Balls are likely to be lost or damaged before they wear out. According to Golf Digest, unless there is visible damage to the cover, the average golf ball should last at least seven full 18-hole rounds without any degradation in performance. A little lost paint or other marks that leave the contours of the cover intact are acceptable, but once there is a scuff on the cover that feels rough to the touch it is time to take the ball out of play.

  That's nothing to do with how this game makes money ....................WGT is a business and most agree the way they charge is fair..........

  Balls do wear out over time. The main point is that most of us lose them well before they wear out. A pro swings at around 120 mph and that fast a swing will wear out a ball much faster than a swing like mine that is 80 mph at best.And here the swing speed would have to be considered pro like.

  Quite a few of the pros change balls every 3 or 4 holes. They will last longer than that but they don't want anything that would hinder their game.
