I still have and will be having this same debate at my next level (92+) for that extra half dot of precision and balance for that ghost spider putter.

Get used to dinging it for it to work when you get it. Not sure how the other Ghosts work but the 92 is definitetly a ding putter.

Sorry to hijack this thread but how the heck do I send a message?  I go to my messages but there is no "Create New" so I would like to message you (YankeeJim) more about he 92+ Ghost Spider but cant figure out how?

I prefer the L66, the L92 you have to "ding" in order to get the result you want.  With the 66, you have a little to no room for error as far as the "ding" goes.

I would make the upgrade to the L66, it is definitely worth the extra credits. Takes a bit to get used to, but you will like it in the long run.

You can't message someone unless you are "Friends". You need to either send a friend request or leave a message on his wall.

Courteney got it right but you can also ask here. Doing that shares what we learn with others that might be read-only types. Don't be shy about what you want to know, the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.  ;-)

And the only bad mistake is one from which you do not learn.

So my question is with the 92+ Ghost Spider on a tough break/slope like all the holes on Olympic, you have to ding to make those?  I usually compensate for the break so if it is a big right to left break, I hit it way right of the ding so the ball eventually travels left, but are you saying with the 92 you can ding it and it still goes in even with a lot of break?  Just wondering why a lot of people always say "I hit the ding" why didn't  it go in?

Yes, assuming you read it right. This is opposed to a putter like the Rossa or the Redwood where you can gauge how much to miss the ding by and still get your putt. The 92 Ghost doesn't forgive like those putters do and if you try to putt with it by missing the ding, you have to miss by a very large amount to get what you want and then the length is affected. It's just not effective like it is with other putters.

This is why I said IDK about the other Ghosts because they may work this way. The point is if you're used to putting by missing you're going to be severely disappointed by the way the 92 Ghost works.

Ok.  I use my Ghost lvl 66+ just like you described the other putters.  I gauge to miss the ding by reading the severe slope/break to make my putt.  I only concentrate on hitting the ding when I have a straight in putt.  Are you suppose to move the blue triangle on the hole where you want to hit it and then hit the ding?  Maybe that is what I am doing different?  I just always leave it on the hole and miss my ding on purpose and compensate for the break/slope.

LOL just watched the putting tutorial and yes they recommend you move the blue arrow on where you want to hit it and then hit the ding.  Man not sure I can make that change now lol...I am actually pretty good my way...or maybe I could be better the right way lol.  Thanks YankeeJim!

Do not change your way for the sake of a new putter. What works for you is all that counts and be happy you mentioned this before you dropped the credits. When the time comes where you hit the putting wall, then maybe overhaul your putting game but for now if you're happy with your style, stay with it.  :-)

I find that missing the ding is very effective on short putts. Ii just seems to me that when i I move the flag and ding it  i miss more putts 0,2 to the side of the hole. The missed ding is more forgiving it seems.

btw Jeff you are close to level 77 and the Nike method will be available. Made a huge diff in my  putting game since moving to tourney greens.
