feel like an idiot but i can't seem to be able to substitute a 3rd wedge for my hybrid wood.
Did you drag the 3rd wedge on to the 3H in your bag?
You need to take the hybrid out of your bag before you can put the new wedge in.

In theory yes. But actually just drag a club to the hybrid spot and it will replace the hybrid automatically without having to uncheck the hybrid first.
