Cant recall the exactly number to move up to tour pro, but you need certain number of ranked rounds to level up.

Under 72 average and you become  tour pro, you're almost there.

    Tiers:

      • When your average score is equal or smaller than 100 you go from hack to amateur.
      • When it is equal or smaller than 80 you go from amateur to pro.
      • When it is equal or smaller than 72 you go from pro to tour pro
      • When it is equal or smaller than 67 you go from tour pro to Master
      • When it is equal or smaller than 63 you go from Master to Tour master
      • When it is equal or smaller than 61 you go from Tour master to legend
      • When it is equal or smaller than 60 you go from Legend to Tour Legend*

    and

      • you need to play at least 5 ranked rounds as hack before reaching Amateur
      • you need to play at least 10 ranked rounds as amateur before reaching Pro
      • you need to play at least 20 ranked rounds as Pro before reaching Tour pro
      • you need to play at least 25 ranked rounds as Tour pro before reaching Master
      • you need to play at least 40 ranked rounds as Master before reaching Tour Master
      • you need to play at least 50 ranked rounds as Tour Master before reaching Legend
      • You need at least 500 ranked rounds as Legend before reaching Tour Legend

Unfortunately it's not quite that cut-and-dry.  Maybe it used to be, but I've only been around since Feb of this year and was promoted to Master at level 40 after only 41 ranked rounds.

I wanted to stay at both the Pro and Tour Pro tiers for longer than I was allowed to, but I think I fell victim to the measures WGT put in place to combat re-starters and mulit-accounters.  These measures take into account earnings, match-play results, and who knows what else.  I got promoted to Master right after receiving credits for placing in a tourney, not right after finishing a round....... and I've not earned a ton of credits in tourney's.

So lesnewell, be aware that in addition to the helpful guide SilentOmegaWolf posted, you can also jump tiers (without the need for a minimum number of rounds) by placing high in a number of tournaments.
    Good luck

    That's called sandbagging.

    +1 Courteney!

Plus, our friend S. is well in the money in Master RGs - time to tier up!

I don't agree since sandbagging has to do with pretending to be weak in order to take advantage of an opponent.  I certainly haven't tried to sucker anyone.

Getting promoted to Master quickly wasn't a big deal, just a bit frustrating from the standpoint that I wasn't yet at a level at which I could purchase a driver to reach many of the longer par 4's in two from the tees I was now playing..... not to mention the fact that I would need to make another deposit to buy it when I was able.

If you want to tier up slow , then play stroke play rounds , single play . Once you start playing higher tiered players, and winning , you can shoot through the roof , in just a few rounds. So the slow lane is in the stroke play .I`m a casual player , and I dont play for credits .So I have been taking my time to reach Legend tier . For Legends and Tour Legends , life is lonely in the parking lot . Its cold out there , with lions , tigers , and bears. Also play practice rounds, and have fun. Happy Swinging
