ball durability and putts....

  WGT says the putt doesnt affect the ball, then one day a putting blitz came out and my durability decreased, so how do we really now if that statement is correct??

  WGT says.....putts count during putting challenge games, but not during regular stroke play games. take it for what it's worth.

  still easy to say that when there is no way of knowing for sure.......... WGT is a sneaky, tricky little bast@rd, gotta keep a watchful eye on her/him/neuter.................

  I think I read somewhere that if it's off the green, say fringe, it's effecting the ball

  The only time ball durability is not affected is when you are on the green during Stroke play, Alternate shot, Match play, and Skins games. 

  So if your on the fringe yes ball durability is decreased.  Also if you use a wedge on the green ball durability can be affected.

  On CTTH Putting it does effect the ball durability but it is nominal.

  Am I wrong to remember that this was announced to have been changed long ago, just after the introduction of these competitions?

  It wasn't announced, but players found out and posted about it...the the "we'll look into it" replies from WGT came.
