    Steven1163:

I dont mean to sound stupid...but is there an actual known number of how many hits u get with one ball?

There have been several charts posted regarding ball type vs hits...you'd have to do a search to drag them up...but rough 80 to 120 seems to be the norm ...i/e 80 hits for lowest durability..120 for highest

    WGTdbloshoe:
On CTTH Putting it does effect the ball durability but it is nominal.
I was never luckier to contradict you - today's test of four putting CTTHs = 36 shots showed no visual reduction in ball life.

    WGT GI2-SD2 Legend+ 155 1.5 95 4.52 11.43
WGT Starter Slow Meter Any 100 1.0

    * Putts do not count as hits & are not included, except putts from the fringe.

    ** Calculated based on 21 hits per 9-hole round (par 36 with 67% green-in-regulation).

There are a few empty fields and the new Nike balls aren't listed, but I can atest to the accuracy of the statistics.

As you can see, dots of durability as provided by WGT can be a bit inaccurate.

    Lovely work folks!

Yet still no numbers on the MAX balls - I'm too curious...

Read Icons post here, i remember it was said that the putts would not count somewhere, and it was fixed. I just cant find it at the mo:

Thanks for the heads-up. Niblick's message is clear as a Highland lake, and I, too, remember confirmations of this status.

The new message here might have implied a change but I proved the situation "unchanged":

Putts in the putting CTTH do not use any ball life.

Thanks forcefan and The Peoples Club for gathering this info. It's very helpful.

I did a test the GI-D balls, which are not included in your test, and the stats are:

    WGT    GI-D    Any    44    2.0    120    5.71    2.57

BTW, the stats for the GI-S ball are bit different than what you posted. The ball price is 49 credits:

    WGT    GI-S    Any    49    2.0    120    5.71    2.86

If I get credits and time, I'll try to do the other balls that have empty fields.

I wonder if vapor trailed balls have less durability since every time you hit one, it looks like it's shedding its cover to make the trail. ;-)

Also, I find it odd that the numbers don't match for the same dots of durability.  2.5 dots of durability should have same number of hits, no?  And there are even a few of them with less dots of durability but more hits.

Wondering if that is just from possible count errors, some counting putts, some not?

I would much rather see a ball lose it's abilities somewhat when it's deemed "out of hits" instead of just throwing it away.  If I was down to my last preferred ball in real life but had a bag full of crap balls, I'd play my game ball until it was either lost or cut.

It already does by morphing in to the starter ball?

Per above they deem it cut in your analogy.  Any change would have to be at least revenue neutral before WGT would even look at it I think. I can't see how this one would be...
