  Hi Garry, the course I played most was the 18 hole Oaks course in Banstead/Sutton. Not too long and I could frequenty play this course in Par or slightjy better but was also close to where I lived in Cheam. Other regulars were Coulsden Court and occasionally the goat track at Mitcham and Richmond Park.

  Played quite a few others including Wentworth (a co-worker owned a house backing onto the course and received membership!) and the wonderful Walton Heath - one of the most immaculate courses I have played. Some great courses in Surrey and for a while myself and a friend would try a different course every week, schedules permitting.

  Yes Alan, I've played Oaks & Coulsdon my nearest is Addington Court,But also got two Championship quality courses less than a mile from my house,Addington Palace & The Addington used be a caddie on the later,Totally surounded with greenery & golf courses with some nice views of London too.

  Just noticed this.  Realise not to me but  I am an Essex boy LOL (brother a teacher is Surrey made me think it).....These days I live Sydney Australia so those dull winter matts a long way away..............Cheers  I think that course was just a local (but still fine when not winter) municipal course Belhus I think.  I often played Chart Hills (Company had membership)...........I also often I played Lullingstone in Kent with friend's......V long course until they invented the hot faced clubs LOL.......... and OK still long for me when accuracy off days :)

  Jim,I've not played any Essex courses but I have played Lullingstone only about 5 mile from me & yes very long played without buggies too PHEW!! couldn't now lol.

  Wow, what a small world. I live 15 mins away from Lullingstone :-)

  And yeah you're dead right, it's a bit of long way round of those Comp tees ;-) The sort of course you wonder what the fuss is about until you get off the back pegs, lol

  Chart Hills, one of the few courses I could play forever and not get bored. Love the place. Wouldn't make a bad course on here either really.

  Anyways, here's me taking a chance, lol. Wonder what lie this would have been in UL format? ;-)

  Some great pictures on this thread some at iconic courses,I have a couple of pics my friend took of me playing Slaley Hall last year,If I can get someone to get them on here for me I will.

  Here's me and Firmdrive (Rob) at Burley Golf Club in the new forest Hampshire. UK. where we are both members. I'm the 1 teeing off and Rob is the 1 who looks like Misterwgts lovechild.
