Since I installed Maxthon a few months ago I've had a pretty trouble free meter, until a few days ago when it became very jumpy.  I updated my graphics driver the day it started and thought that was the problem but have since gone back to the old one and it's no better, I let the meter run through at least once almost every shot and hit the ding very rarely these days.

A bad Flash version is a possible cause of my problems, I currently have 11.3.300.271 installed.

Those that use Maxthon and have a smooth meter, could you please post here which Flash version you have so I can try some others and see if it helps?

    Thanks.

Maxthon 3, Flash 11.5.502 and smooth most of the time, though it subjectively has become worse last week.

    How to update Flash?

I'm using 11.5.502.110. Your flash will update if you re-download the browser.

Updating the flash player using the Maxthon browser is done manually by the user. There are several steps involved.

    Uddate Flash Player first
Then go to My Computer, your hard drive
Under Windows find the file SysWOW64 click it
Find the file Macromed click it and the file Flash
Copy the latest file which is now NPSWF32 11.7.700.169.dll
Now you have to go into your program files and find the Maxthon program
Click on it, then click Core, then Webkit, then Npplugins
Paste the copied dll file and delete the old one

    A big THANK YOU, Shiner!

Looking at all the hustle, Courteney's workaround seems a lot easier.

Alas, Maxthon 3 not being the up-to-date version, it may be excluded from Flash updates(?)

Any version of Maxthon does not automatically update flash. Even when you update to a more current version of Maxthon it still may not have the latest version of flash. The only way to keep flash current in Maxthon is to use the method Moonshiner has illustrated.

One step Moonshiner forgot to mention is when you paste the newer flash version NPSW file in the Npplugins folder you need to delete NPSWF32.dll and/or the older NPSW file you are replacing. Otherwise it may still use the older version of flash instead of the newer one.

Been running Max Cloud update for several months ( version  11.6.602.171 ). Meter runs very well, with some skips during heavy weekend activity. Best I found in the last 18 months, but as mentioned above, it will not update automatically. You can update from Adobe Flash homepage if you so desire.

    Thanks, OBR!

That is version 4, not 3.

A major disadvantage was the sudden program terminations, happening every second day.

Now, with Maxthon 3, I have less issues - only involuntary log-outs.

I fear that these issues will only stop when WGT will eventually leave the beta Flash version, only to introduce a new game platform - beta version :)

Thanks for the replies.  I figured my Flash had been updated to a newer one that wasn't working so well, looks like I was wrong there.   Maybe it is linked to me changing my graphics driver, I'm back to the supplied one which is older than the one that was installed until a few days ago.  Trouble is I have absolutely no idea which release it was, DOH!

To give you an idea how bad it is, my meter always moved towards the ding line as a single, vertical faced line.  Now I can often see the leading edge being drawn, it looks like an avalanche going along my screen.   I'm still posting OK scores but am missing at least 1 putt per 9 holes due to missing the ding on putts.  My ding rate has gone from an estimated 80% to well under 50%, probably about 25% more likely.

If I had longer hair I'd be pulling it out by now.  I'll try the suggestions above and let you know how it goes, it can't make things any worse.  Hopefully.

I followed mnshiner's advice, thanks for your help and it has helped a bit but the meter is not as good as it used to be.  I noticed another thread from someone else having meter trouble for the last week or 2, maybe we suffer the same problem.

I appreciate the advice though, thanks again.
