Look here WGT, these two courses should be free ALL THE TIME!  There is no reason your valued (humph) customers should have to pay for a half baked dish.

It's contrived and downright money grabbin'.

I realize you have have to pay True Golf for their services, You shouldn't have to make us pay..If you've ever worked in a viable business, you know you have overhead. It's called C O B . Cost of doing business.

Ever had a free pen from a local bank? Bet you have. Did they charge you for it? No.

It's given to placate and appreciate your valued (humph) customers.  The bank paid for the pens but they didn't make me pay for them, I'm a VALUED customer.

Just a bone they throw me, and sometimes...that's enough.

Had the same bank for 35 yrs.

Wow, I am surprised at some players reactions, In the last month or so we have had free club rental, a great new stroke play course and now free use of the TruGolf courses, but some still complain,  No wonder Pizza used to lose his rag!

TruGolf courses were not made by WGT and must have to pay for the use thereof, so like a cable TV subscription, you have to pay for "extra channels" that you may wish. Like the cable TV you have the option, in WGT's case you have the choice to play TruGolf courses on a user pays basis or simply not play them. Half baked - I agree that they may not suit every palate but you have the choice as the menu isn't to shabby now.

Using a bank giving you a free 10 cent pen is hardly a sensible comparison, based on thier incredible profits that they make (and WGT may also make these, I don't know) - the pen COB is already included in their costs. Every business is designed to maximise profits and if the 10 cent pen makes you happy, you are very easily pleased. If they out sourced some of their services, such as insurance, do you really think this service would be provided for free? Of course not.

And I have never seen a bank that says, oh do this survey or watch this video we will not charge you interest on your mortgage.

You can play this game, including playing TruGolf courses without spending a dime by the offers, yes it  costs your time, but you do not have to spend actual cash, or simply using starters equipment.

Personally I thank WGT for these gestures - yes the motive is to try to encourage more people to play these courses, or upgrade equipment (free rental weekends) but they have no obligation to do so.

I do agree that WGT need to value its customers more, and I see this as a great start. Free pens simply don't cut it.

This game has come on in leaps and bounds since I first tried it when it was only CTTH and I do feel that WGT are now starting to listen to its customers - and to WGT I give them credit for that. No it is not perfect but the signs are that things have started to improve - and long may this continue.

I agree with everything you said, Alan, but...I think the green fees on those courses are waaayyy too expensive. Who can afford those fees? Only the top players who have accumulated tons of credits and don't actually feel them.

I think 10c for a full 18 and 5c for 9 holes would be more in line, and WGt would still make a nice profit (IMO). I, for one, would definitely play Cabo on a regular basis, and I'm sure a lot of other players feel the same way as I do. A lot of more players would be playing these two courses if the fees weren't so high. More revenue for WGT in the long run. Think about it...

I concur with this, personally I very seldom play them due to the cost and fell if the price was reduced many more would play them. The green fees were even higher but sadly I do not know the agreement WGT has with TruGolf and  who gets what from the green fees.

I have only ever played Whistler a couple of times, Cabo a few more - and I know what Goldeena means regarding it should have a warning "this course can lead to mouse damage" lol.

Not sre if they will come down to your proposed figures, but would be nice to have a 50% reduction IMO.

I don't see that happening because they have already reduced them by 60% from what they were when Cabo was introduced. They were 100 credits for 9 holes and 150 credits for 18 holes.

And this is a portion of the post that Chad made when Cabo was first introduced.

Because TruGolf courses are developed externally, WGT does need to charge a fee to play a TruGolf course. However, TruGolf has agreed not to charge for the closest-to-the-hole game, so WGT players can try and play any new TruGolf course for 0 credits and see what you think first.

From that I take it that truGolf even wanted a green fee for CTTH rounds but agreed to let them be free.

Judging by what the bank has done to my interest rates, they owe me a few cases of pens. Montblanc, even.
