NEW DRIVER BETWEEN LEVEL 88-94

  Why is it that some people below level 94 have the R11S driver? Was it available before level 94? Why did they move it up? I don't want to sound like a kid, but that was not fair.

  G20 lvl81 is a great one. You don't need more. What you need are good balls & r11 lvl90 irons.

  It was level 90, got moved to lvl 94 three weeks before I was eligible - still irks me!!!!!

  I wonder when the Callaway RAZR FIT EXTREME driver will be made available to the WGT players and at what level?

  I just transitioned a few weeks back from the R11 to the R1...big difference in yardage for sure, but that R11 kept me in balls for the past year prior.

   

  Don't sell it short, learn to work with it.

  It still comes to pass that a level 70 player can get the new Cally driver, that is almost as good as the higher level G20, it actually has more forgiveness, and i have tried the R11 on many occasions and i think it sucks, so i have to wait all the way to 94 to get the S, which has a little more forgiveness, now you can look at my driving stats if you want and note I have always played the G20 Drivers. I dont think 87% is too bad.

  YESSSSSS the R11s back to L90 or at least L92...

  The decision to move it to L94 is/was very unfair to Legend players that were at or near L88+ when that happened. Those who now have reached Legend/L90 after WGT moved it to L94 have quite a disadvantage over a good portion of L90+ WGT players.

  Since I was among the unlucky, I haven't used the R11s but I can only assume there's a huge benefit to it over the R11 driver because of the significant improvement in distance from the L81 G20 (rated at 280 yds) to the L88 R11 (282 yds). From the Legend tees you really need the extra distance on certain holes. Unfortunately, it's much, much harder w/ the R11 (than the G20) to keep it in the fairways because of the weak forgiveness rating.

  The G20 was/is a great driver for forgiveness, not for distance from the back tees.

  I'm a WGT fan so I'm not going to pretend I'll leave the game but I sent WGT my first semi-hate mail in regards to the R11s L90/L94 issue and this was the response...

  Keep in mind that the players fortunate enough to be at L90 when the R11s first came out ARE grandfathered in so the rest of us have to compete w/ them using inferior equipment. Also...

  Correct me if I'm wrong but a L90 Legend is NOT a lower level player, and the new Callaway Driver wouldn't even reach the fairway from some of the Legend tees. How is that great distance?

  I totally agree with your post and as I said earlier it still irks me. I too was happily using the G20 which is forgiving and distance is OK, but slightly weak into or with cross winds, The R11 is a very good driver - provided you get close to the ding. I dont personally want to see drivers that are forgiving and have a huge distance as it then will make the game too easy - it should always be a challenge IMO.

  Back to the R11S driver, it was unfair, especially when a lot of your peers at the same level are using it and you can't. However this was a financial decision by WGT as at lvl 90 who in their right mind would by the lvl88 R11 - not many for a  2 level wait. So probably like many, I ditched my G20 for the R11 knowing a slight improvement in distance for 6 levels (and a huge amount of XP's) was worth it. Marketing Department screwed up initially and the players suffer. Was it greed, yes, was it good customer relkations, no. Had it been lvl 92 the pill would have not been quite so bitter to swallow.

  From what I remember of the G20 it was slightly better with a bit of top spin in to the wind than the R11....R11 really is a long toothed money grabbing, straining the last cent from a dinosaur club IMO! I On this one I can't see WGT got too much right at all...can see why WGT did what they did level's wise but I need my special ultra short sighted glasses on to do so....(My opinion, no offense to other's with different). V poor business / customer decision in my book I am afraid  ...WGT get a lot right but this one is a stuff up!
