    alosso:

Have you really seen 59.99? Sorry to say, I doubt this. Legend averages come with three digits, one of them unseen. 59.99 would have been less than 59.995, in fact 59.994 or less.

Fact is, one shot is worth 1/500 = 0.002 on the average, thus that 60.00 that you've seen actually may not have promoted you because it was a 60.002 or 60.004.

To get from 60.002 to 59.994 is a four shot drop (4/500 = 0.008). Thus, a 32 / 64 would have been in the average pot - possible but unlikely IMHO. The quest for 29s and 30s might create enough 31s to kick them out.

Fact is that all of the previous promotions take place at x.00 - seen a few of those. Why should it be different on the brink of TL?

If you hit the 500 RRs with an average near 60, there will be plenty of big scores available for knocking out (unless you've avoided posting higher scores through WDs and restarts).

I saturated at 60.9 or so and it took another 50 or so RRs (including some scores too high to matter) to reach TL.  I graduated with a 64, so there was still a 65 (or worse) in my top 500.  My average showed as 60 both before and after that round.

A player who saturates with a 60.001 could graduate with a 59.98 easily.

    Coming for you Mike.

When I do get to TL, Mid 2014 probably LOL, I'll have to remember to play STA F9 or Merion Back for a few rounds to start with.

Great Film Mb... one of my favorites.

When TL was first introduced all the Legends that have had their averages going up, needed to play another 100 ranked rounds..... So I would say 400 + 100 = 500 ranked rounds to play......     and an Average of 60.00 to get promoted.

The first game as TL... just like all Tiers... is your new Average

Not sure I think there is another rule for people that have lower averages than the 60 to get promoted... and don't know what it is.

What I do know( which is not much...lol)  you do need 500 ranked rounds as TL until you average stops going up/down.

....... on a side note... I do know 1ijohns age... which I won't say... and your comment young Courteney was a bit rude....lol

Let me say... Reaching TL is great... When I was a Legend, with a ave of 60.10 or something like that... I got so sick of playing all the courses.... so I started a Weekly Comp in my CC and just hit it hard... until I finally got over the line... and what a great experience it was too.

The only time we Putt on Champ Speed greens are Multi play matches or TL comps....  the local CC' comps are all comp based green speeds... if anybody is wondering

Valuable insight, BH! Looks like I made weak assumptions from comparison with the much smaller numbers of Master and TM.

And yes, a 59.98 would leave a nice impression of "graduation with 59.99". It doesn't change my mind though that the threshold is 60.000.

61.99 now, still a long way to go.

Was 63.6 about 7/8 weeks ago, but feel a touch burnt out now. Need to ALT a bit I think.

May be good to re-think the goals at some times:

Is it the main goal to become a TL (why?),

is it to collect credits (why?),

or is it to get some recreation on these beautiful courses, have fun alone or with friends?

And for those who need a goal, there are different ones in the awards section.

    - scoring awards for every course - breaking them will also help the average,

    - match play master for wins in one month,

    - special awards like Blitz King, Birdie Streak, Dance Floor,

    - funny awards like Sandman, Ham&Eggs, Choke or Yips

Get some for your show case, and have fun!!

I'm quite flattered that John thinks of me so often. But if I want to speak to someone of his age I'll phone my grandfather.

    Oh, snaps!
