when i found out we wasnt getting lytham st annes i have just not been the same.

I was really pi$$ed at not getting RLSA .

Not getting Muirfield is like getting the 'nads mashed with a 7lb sledgehammer.

It's a great course.....a tough course..........night and day compared to St Andies.

Not getting Muirfield is about 30% of the reason I decided to go...the other 70% is because there's no HD replacement lined up.

I plan to just put 100% of my time now fully into my work and the money I used to spend on here will now be put into and putting extra an server or 2 online. I certainly won't be hanging around for another year to find out the British Open's flunked for the 3rd year  & still no replacement course..

To be honest.....I like Merion a lot. It's a great course but even if I qualify I'll be in Paris for the month of July (business & leisure) so I'll be doing other things.

Everything has to come to and end some day. I've had a great time in the 3 years I've been playing and met some terrific people on this site.

Good luck to Danno, Tess, Simo, Buffy, MG and all my other Aphrodite team mates who get through to the Open Final Rounds & good luck to everyone one else from all the other CC's who get through.

I hate saying goodbyes so as Yancy would say "I'm Out!"

Chris I am only for a separate Open if it were the Senior U.S. Open and open only to players over 50 years of age. Some of us older players just don't have the reflexes and good enough vision to compete with the younger guys. Or maybe it's most of us older players. That way it would still be The U.S. Open just the senior version. Just like The have in real life.

A senior Open would be a good idea  (if WGT can prove every one is over 50, might be a few sneeky youngsters trying to win a tournament without the usual elite names.lol)

Hate to see any of the WGT oldtimers leave but TBE is a really tough loss.

WGT needs to address the lack of the 2nd HD course each year.  I can understand not being able to come to terms with some of the specific clubs, however why is there no backup plan?  I know that we would like to get the Open course, however in lieu of that how about the PGA Championship course or any of the other great venues that are used for the PGA tour that are available.  I know that Harbour Town could be had as well as many of the other 'resort' type courses.

The budget is there, you already planned to do the Open.  Just have a plan in place if things don't go well, similar to how you handled the US Open when Oakmont came in to take the place of Pebble Beach.   The game needs new courses to survive, 2 sets of pins would help as well.  You really could use a player advisory board made up of 20 or so top players, posters, country club owners, etc. to give you the pulse of the community, people who don't just post in anger but people who really want the site to be the best that it can be.

Scots are well known for being hot headed and I'm quite impulsive too.

I guess I was really pi$$ed about Muirfield and any alternative option BUT on that note, there's a lot worse happening in the world around us today which kinda puts not getting your favourite Open venue in HD graphics into the shade huh?

It's too easy to shout the odds at WGT but in all honesty, they're probably trying as hard as they can do introduce new courses. I mean why wouldn't they? More new courses would mean more business and revenue for them.

I was starting to go cold turkey. A few days of no moans..no  wtf vemmed shots and no more Yancy vids lol. I was breaking out in a cold sweat and needed a fix.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd miss Aphrodite & this great community way too much :)

I'll toddle off back to my locker and get my clubs back out.

I couldnt agree more, Gearhry.... Keeping Players who shoot similar scores regularly, together would make much more sence...... we can never compete with the 50's players, and it appears that there are enough of them to stay in a seperate bracket..... ya, i know life isnt fair.... but to be more competitive, and fun for the people actually spending real Jack on your game WGT, like i do...why dont you keep the tourneys them same just let us play with players who have similar averages. ...

PS will our voice ever b Heard??????????????????
