I was just looking at the account of a Level 38 Amateur, who has won four competitions so far this Month, is quite obviously a multi-accounter and doesn't seem to care who knows it.

He has the very best equipment he can get for this level, but what puzzled me is that he has it all ( every club )  on long term hire......  42 days remaining on the lot ! Surely, this must have cost him a small fortune.

Just wondering if the more senior players on here could explain why he would do this, or maybe the guy is just an eccentric, cheating rich person ?

I'm only wondering HOW this would be possible - I only know 24 h hire.

Would you mind to check back tomorrow if the number changes at all?

Plus, rental is at 15%, thus a week would pay the full price. Imagine a 50% reduction, that's two weeks, but not 6!

There may be something wrong in the state of ...!

Maybe I've got it wrong Mate. I'll take a look tomorrow, as you suggest.

OK, out of ignorance I'll ask - how can you tell that the equipment was rented?

You see it when hovering over the items, IIRC.

@G: Never thought for a second that you were wrong...

If I can remember his name that is ! What a cretin I am.... I've cleared all the history and cache since. Leave it with me mate. Definitely said 42d on every item. I'll see if I can check the Amateur tournament winners.... there must be a way.

I have seen this with several accounts before. I tried to purchase additional rental days with a putter to give it more than 24hrs, but got a message stating I had already rented it. I figured it was an error, a hack, or WGT testing something. The middle one is what I felt most strongly about unfortunately, as with the OP's reason for checking the person's account, so was my reason for checking. And then following friending and renting history... and so on... Pretty disheartening. No Ready Go's for me, and even free tournaments are not very appealing.

The "Amateur" featured on the home page (with the 32 birdies and 2 eagles in 8 ranked rounds) has all but the R11 irons (which are owned) on 44+ day rental.

Interesting that the player icon is a WGT Logo, so maybe the player is a test subject for a future feature (long term rentals).

I can't thank you enough my friend. I've been looking everywhere again for evidence of this 'player', who I originally saw on the Community Spotlight feature. I was really thinking that I'd had one of my 'moments' and dreamed the whole thing up.

If it's as you suggest, then that would explain it. If it isn't..... then I'm still astonished !
