Yes - Merion is hosting the US Open.  The Open Championship (commonly referred to as the British Open here in the US) is being held at Muirfield (and not the one where Jack's Memorial Tourney in Ohio is held).

They are talking about the British Open Course which is Muirfield. The Memorial tourney is Muirfield Village.

Wrong sir,  Muirfield was the Memorial tournament.   Merion is where the open will be.

Oh hpurey... you're better than that.  Don't be so "nationalistic"... it's a big world out there. Embrace it.  The Open, in the United Kingdom, got there before us.  Therefore they get to be the Open.  Ours came later, therefore the U.S. Open to differentiate it.  Maybe the Canadians would like to call theirs the Open.  How would that work for you?

Unless, of course, you were jesting.  Then I'll lightly chuckle with you.

What does where or how , they play have to do with the post ? Instead of trying to belittle or berate this player , it would seem better to contribute in a positive manner. Snide remarks arent needed ,and this is probably why new players avoid the forums . We all started off in this game the same, so dont forget where you came from. My 2 cents. Happy Swinging

It's an inside thing, Lonnie. Hazen's my CC bud and is world reknown for his suds quaffing abilities. DMM was piling on. You know, like Fat Albert  in the Buck Buck Championship of the World.  LOL

Sorry Jim, this wasnt directed at you, it was meant for Courteneyfish . I didnt like her response towards the other player , and that was what my reply was about . You have always been a straight shooter , for as long as I have seen your posts in the forums . My reply just didnt post properly . Happy Swinging

Hey YJ... I have no ax to grind with you.  My thoughts were independent of anything else said here... actually I read his post and then went to the driving range this morning and came back and posted...his post was troubling me.  If it's an inside thing then hpurey needs to hint at that when he posts for all the (WGT) universe to read.  And you'll notice, I did give him the benefit of the doubt.  As I still do.

Nah, I was just wrong, simple as that.

However, the Monday hangover at work was 100% true.  ;-)

Can hardly wait to get home and crack one open and take a few hits, ( at a virtual golfball that is)  lol

Yes DMM certainly gave me the benefit of the doubt and was appreciated.
