Just want some  opinions  on what other Wgt players think is best putter for legends who are putters who aim and hit ding, opposed to putters who do not aim and miss the ding.... I have the level 77 nike, but am thinking of upgrading to the level 80 Max because of the better balance...thoughts?

I agree with the old adage. There are no bad putters just bad putts. I'm quite happy with the new Versa although the meter isn't as slow as advertised.

I have Max Master, which is similar to the lvl 80 max. They have the same attributes, just different increments, although I can't say with 100% that they are the same putter and putt the same.

I love the Max Master and it is definitely a better ding putter than off ding putter.  I have tried both.  Just be aware that the Max putter is going to have a faster meter than the nike so you will need to get used to that and definitely use a ball with slightly more feel.  When i first got it I was using balls with only 1 dot  feel and although i could hit ding with it, i would miss a fair amount so I tried off ding putting but found it to be too inconsistent for me, personally. Probably cuz i didn't spend enough time fine tuning it. Now that I use NIke and cally balls, hitting ding is pretty easy, still miss from time to time, but the putter does have some forgiveness so you can still make those shorter putts inside 7 or 8 feet with a slight miss

Putters on here are personal and most will tell you find one and stick with it and learn it inside and out. I know when i first got my max i was horrible. It took me a few weeks to get settled in just to be half way decent. Finding even now i get better as time goes on. Some of that is learning the reads and the greens better, but some of it is over time your mind gets used to how the putter works. Just don't expect that because you buy this putter, or any putter, that magically you will be an ace putter.  It will take time

The best putter for anyone level 92 or higher is the level 92 Ghost Spider because of the higher precision especially if you play aim and hit the ding style. I made the mistake of dropping it for a few months but I am back with it and will never change again.

The others a good but the due to the 1/2 dot less precision on a dinged putt can be the difference between a holed putt and a lip out. Also the newer putters with more forgiveness, the forgiveness becomes a moot point if you hit the ding, as forgiveness only comes into play if you miss the ding.

IMO, a putter is a personal choice, and they all "feel" different, even though we never actually hold them in our hands and physically swing them.

That said, I chose the L70 Odyssey Versa. I am a (try to) hit the ding putter. Also, I prefer to use the shortest swing while retaining accuracy (knowing I have the swing drawn back to the correct distance); for example, I would use the 30ft for a 5ft putt, the 60ft for a 10ft, the 150ft to shoot a 25ft. A friend is a "miss the ding on purpose to aim" putter, and chose the Rossa.

I have tried a bunch of the putters up through L70. The lower level ones were great to use to get to the Versa. I own the Rossa, but far prefer the Versa. The Max Master is nice IMO, but to me (and a few other friends), it felt... heavy. Like putting with a brick on a stick. Maybe it is a visual thing? I cannot speak about the L92 Ghost as I am not at a high enough level yet.

i cant argue with that too much ..... once u know ur putter inside out, u could work with the worst one on here .. (and its not the starter one)

I know this is sad but ... i used to rent (free) putters and test out their distance on a *flat green ... and the results showed that sometimes certain putters would be short

my favourite was the nike 'method' ... i dearly loved it! ... but it went a constantly 1 in 10 shots short (?) ... i even bought it! ... and it went 1 in 10 short! (lol) ... after i was (very) happy with my putter, i had to find a ball ... I then spent $30 on balls ... then done stats on their landing ... e.g.  top spin - no spin - back spin ... and i noticed the same results! ... some balls would have an higher ratio of "WTF" shots ... (yes .. it took me ages to do lol)

Anyway my advice (regardless of these results) is DONT believe the equipment specifications

P.S. my putter is the "Rossa"

The meter is exactly as advertised . . . if it went any slower it would be going backwards.

Great putter . . . highly recommend it
