This is my first post since joining WGT in late May. Finally made level 35 and looking to upgrade clubs and would like any feedback. Here is what I am looking at:

     TaylorMade R11 Fullset Level 32,

TaylorMade Ghost Spider Putter Level 35

    Cleveland CG16 56 Level 27

    Cleveland CG16 60 Level 29

    Cleveland CG16 64 Level 31

Callaway Tour i(s) Balls Level 33

I believe this would be a good upgrade over the Starter set for me and also lower my scores. I love playing this game. I do not have enough credits for all of this but I don't mind spending a few dollars for the credits needed.

    Thanks,

    Daryl

Levels not too hard to get through still for you provided you get your daily consecutive days played XP:

    Really wana save:

    L59 G20s - first hi trajectory set and will do you through to Legend (Raptures before them are good also but your credits and they will need replacing sooner);

Level 40s ping wedges are great value and get them evenly spaced with your irons.  You will need three of them, no hybrid. Bear in mind your PW also a wedge.

Putter is v personal.  You can look through many threads on different one's for different styles.  Main thing is to get a good one and stick with it to learn it properly.

Cally s is a fine ball.........I like the L35 one but the S just dandy!

Low level buys tend to become pointless too soon. Whatever you want to buy, look out for the possible better equipment available at a higher level. In general, unless the need for a change is irresistible,

    - do not start to buy wedges before level 18,

    - do not start to buy a putter before level 30,

    - do not buy a putter below 500 credits,

    - do not start to buy woods and irons before level 47/48,

    - start buying balls as a Tour Pro, work your way through the list from cheap to expensive. Try to avoid using a ball with higher level than your main clubs.

If you must buy then your choices seem pretty good to me. Your needs will alter though when you reach the Master tier so try to plan your steps to Legend so you don't have to change your clubs too often.

Decisions all look good to me if you just have credits burning holes in your pockets.

I think I was mid 60s before I ditched my starter set.

You started with the putter, o.k.

Next would be wedges IMHO but you may want to wait till level 41 (30,000 XPs) for the Pings instead of the lower Clevies.

And, spare the Cally balls for better clubs. Now, a WGT ball might be good enough.

    Have fun!

That is what I bought as my first upgrades, exactly (no hybrid). That equipment worked great, and I replaced the R11 irons with the L59 G20 irons, and those with the L79 Bladez (which will get replaced with the L90 R11 irons, completing the circle).

If you have the credits, I would plan for the L48 R1 driver and L41 R11s 3W. The R1 will last you until Legend, as will the R11s 3W. That R11s 3W is a lot nicer than the R11 (non "s"), and though the G20 3W (and others) might provide a little extra yardage, IMO you do not need it until Legend, and the R11s sticks better, and has more forgiveness.

    alosso:

    - do not start to buy woods and irons before level 47/48,

I bought the full R11 32+ club set way back, thus with the R11 32+ Irons and played with them all the way until lvl 79 and they were great (I'd even go out on a limb and say on par with the lvl 59 G20's, atleast from my experience) so I cannot agree with that copy paste of yours.

I see your point, the R11 have some characteristics close to the G20. Alas, the med/high irons won't beat the "high" G20s IMHO.

I'm still looking at the Raptures (lvl 47) which were my favourites then, but I may have to rethink it.

Only concern is that players may start buying before they really need the clubs or know what they need. Buying early is futile here most of the time.
