I purchased some new golf balls(MAX Meter), a three pack that gave me a more desired slower meter.  But I noticed they only lasted a certain amount of time.  Other than losing them n the water, how long can I play with one of the balls. What is the average lifespan of a ball, barring losing it in the water or out of bounds?

With the max ball you are looking at roughly 3-4 rounds depending on how many shots you take per round.

From what I understood , 1 dot equates to average 1 x 18 hole round, of course , as Shoe said , it depends on how many strokes you take .

I don't think that it's a good idea to get hooked on the granny balls with starter equipment. Not only are they vastly over priced but when you buy better clubs with faster meters you'll have no leeway to slow them down.

Ball life is between 90 and 150 strokes (see Zio's meter for the measuring method), excluding putts on the green. It's only loosely related to the dots. Apparently 2.5 dots may be between 120 and 150 shots, 2 dots may be 100 - 125 dots - see "ball durability chart" in the forum.
