Awhile back I was chewed out for not giving a gimme in an alt shot game against a TL. I think really the issue was that said TL missed the 2 foot putt :^)
When I play, unless its my turn I'm not necessarily looking at the monitor. Sometimes I wander away, and I miss a concede here and there. That doesn't mean I doubt your ability to make the putt, I had something else to take care of and wasn't there to concede.
I've experienced Y U NO CONCEDE rage first hand, and I've read about it many a time. It doesn't bother me if no one concedes my putts, more practice for me :^) But this does open the door for more squabbling, petty arguments, etc if implemented and its really not worth the trouble. Tap it in and carry on I say.
