Look closely at the precision of the irons you are choosing.
The reason that high level players are using the R11s is their accuracy. According to the WGT ratings the L79 RBladez have the same precision and only 1/2 dot less forgiveness than the L 90 R11. My approach shots have really improved since I got the Rbladez.
As for the meter speed, I wasn't sure whether you were looking at the L 79 V L 90 or the TM V Ping clubs. The Pings are slower (but with less precision). You can handle the speed of the 79's and don't need a 5-600 credit ball to do so.
That L 48 R1 is a great club with the forgiveness to keep you on the fairway when you miss the ding. I tried the G20 yesterday (free rental). It did not drive appreciably longer than the R1, it is not very forgiving and I'm not going to buy it!. You'll be waiting a long time for the better R1.
The Cleveland wedges are amazing! Yes, it takes some practice to control them, but they are very consistent.
