I plan on getting an equipment makeover, but it has been tough to decide which setup to go.  No mater the choice I plan on replacing the driver with R1 when I get to that level.

Which setup should I go with?

G20.  The G20 setup really caught my eye with that slow meter speed, and that meter speed also matches the speeds of R1 driver and ATV wedges.  I do find cons to the set though.  The 215yrd 3iron leaves a 25yrd gap if you do 3 wedges.  The short hitting 110yrd pitching wedge makes it hard to get the right gaps in your wedges.

R11.  I'm interested in the R11 setup because everyone is using them.  You don't really need a hybrid with the 225yrd 3iron.  The Cleveland wedges compliment this set with perfect yardage gaps.  Yet I was instantly turned off by the blazing fast meter speed on the irons, that also don't match the rest of the set.  The rest of the stats seem the best, but that won't matter if you are all over the place on the meter.

G25.  Maybe I should wait for the G25 clubs.

IMO you should go with the level 79 bladez. Meter speed is good & the specs are not that much lower than the R11's

Level 79 bladez are the perfect stepping stone to the R11's which all the top level players are using .... then if you can't get the hang of them , you'll know the Pings are the answer to your final iron set , but as you said , are the G25's coming along , updates to clubs was mentioned in the last update .... decisions , decisions and more decisions :-(

I agree with Hewsey....I've had the level 79 rocketbladez for sometime now and they do just fine. You got aways to go to get the R11's. The level 81 G20 driver is a good choice when you get to there. The R1 is limited time anyways, so the chances of you seeing that club is pretty bleek. I played a guy the other night that had the Callaway XHot driver, and I was very impressed with how far he was hitting it.....something to look at

I also see you tried the level 48 R1 driver , I personally know new legends who are still using that driver due to level restrictions , and believe you me , they not getting left that far behind ;-)

Look closely at the precision of the irons you are choosing.

The reason that high level players are using the R11s is their accuracy. According to the WGT ratings the L79 RBladez have the same precision and only 1/2 dot less forgiveness than the L 90 R11. My approach shots have really improved since I got the Rbladez.

As for the meter speed, I wasn't sure whether you were looking at the L 79 V L 90 or the TM V Ping clubs. The Pings are slower (but with less precision). You can handle the speed of the 79's and don't need a 5-600 credit ball to do so.

That L 48 R1 is a great club with the forgiveness to keep you on the fairway when you miss the ding. I tried the G20 yesterday (free rental). It did not drive appreciably longer than the R1, it is not very forgiving and I'm not going to buy it!.  You'll be waiting a long time for the better R1.

The Cleveland wedges are amazing! Yes, it takes some practice to control them, but they are very consistent.

I'm still using my old setup clubs because I came back to WGT 2 weeks ago.  I haven't played the game in 2 years before that time.  Back in the day my setup was one of the best you could get, but my clubs are all way out done statistically now.  My clubs are so out of date that you can't even buy them at the pro shop anymore.

They might add more clubs other than G25.  Anyone got proof of a release date of patch and the clubs they will add?

    Griz891:
    Callaway XHot driver,

I just dropped my R11 driver for this one and wont look back. More fairways = better GIR !

You dont lose much in terms of yardage if your using a distance ball.
