I don't know whats going on but i bought this driver for the fun of it and it is keeping up with my Level 88 R11.  Granted maybe it is the nike balls or the lower trajectory creating rollout but i would suggest trying this out for all the lower level legends like myself  until we get the real sticks.

I rented the L67 X-Hot driver during the free rental weekend, and while it would definitely keep up with my L48 R1 and L81 G20 drivers, I found my L48 R1 to be more comfortable and precise. I can easily see my opinion being the result of having owned and used the L48 R1 since the day it was released, but... the L81 G20 only afforded me 5-8yds extra under certain circumstances, with the penalty of less forgiveness than either of the two others, so the L48 R1 remains in my bag.

I opted against the X-Hot only because it did not offer much benefit over the L48 R1 in distance (a few yards extra here and there), but I would sacrifice familiarity and resulting comfort and precision for them. While the L85 R11 3W has now replaced my L81 G20 3W (VERY east decision), I do not see the L88 R11 driver replacing my L48 R1. Next stop for me is the L94 R11s (unless another limited time R1 offer pops up).

On a side note, I am quite surprised at the poor performance of the L81 and L83 G20 clubs.

Starting with a side note: I enjoy your posts, KittyWumpus. Informative as heck. No BS. Much appreciated.

I've been using the L81 G20 Driver since mid-November. I have liked it immensely since day 1. I find it very easy to ding & forgiving. I can squeeze extra distance out of it by riding side winds due to the high trajectory. Serves me well from the tips...until I reach L94 & can upgrade.

That said, I used the L67 X-Hot Driver during the free rental weekend and was amazed that, while it played differently than the G20 due to the lower trajectory, it was as easy to ding, forgiving, and every bit as long (give or take a few yards). Highly recommended.

    Thank you!

One more note on both the X-Hot and L48 R1: The R1, having been around longer, has gone through some... "code sculpting" (IMO). As it has settled, I found both the R1 and X-Hot to generally prefer backspin, with fbs being used a good deal of the time. They both benefitted from no spin/slight spin when going into a headwind when the fairway allows it. RSG, for example, has some fairways that I would absolutely prefer the 10-20yd loss from using fbs versus gambling on the longer roll of a no spin/slight bs shot.

Though I did not try it with the X-Hot, the L48 R1 can get over the trees on OLY hole 4 from the Champion tees with fbs. Plus, on OLY hole 7? No worries about that branch! Aiming arrow move, and then pseudo-fade it by hitting in the dark blue with fbs; shortens the drive a little, but bends right around the branch. I find pseudo-draw/fade with the L48 R1 to be quite effective, and with the very wide dark and light blue hit areas on the meter, fine tuning/sculpting shots creatively are a breeze.

the X hot does carry 280 yards with full bks in 11 headwind.

and it goes 300 in no wind.

but that is with the 61 nike.
