Both of these putters have the same precision, forgiveness, and balance, and meter speed.

The manta's meter increments are 20/40/60/80/100/300.

The spider's meter increments are 15/25/50/100/150/300.

The ghost manta costs 1,295credits while the ghost spider costs 800credits.

To me the obvious choice is the spider, based on cost and first 3 increments. Am I missing something here, other than the difference of 5 levels?

After reading my post, it does sound  like a review rather than what I intended . I was hoping for advice on which club to purchase because I naturally lean towards the cheaper club but maybe there is something I'm not seeing. I am at level 28 with 705 credits.

I had the lvl 35 ghost spider and I liked it, it will hole many putts if you ding.

I havent tried the manta, but I don't like that it has the 20 scale as the lowest.

my advice is to  save credits and go for the ghost.

There is a 3rd option around that level. The lower level Odyssey Versa #1 Black Putter has the same precision and meter speed as the Manta and Ghost spider but has more forgiveness and better balance. It is a lot more expensive than the other 2 but it might be worth it.

There is no difference between spider and ghost other than you have to wait 5 levels. Cost difference suggests to wait the 5 levels.  So no contest beween Ghost & Spider. L35 Spider wins that battle hands down.

The L33 odyssey is a different proposition.  It boasts 1 & 1/2 dots more than both the above. If you were to wait for a better putter than the odyssey then you would have to wait until L70 for its older brother to beat it. No other putter between L33 and L70 even comes close.

So if you get the L35 Spider, will you be happy with your puchase and not buy again until L70?

I think that if you do settle for the L35 Spider you will get itchy feet again in a few weeks time and you will be back looking for a better putter. Save yourself the grief.

If I were you I would get the L33 odyssey and not worry again about upgrading my putter for a very long time (at least L70 & above).

(By the way I never owned one, they were not around in my time but I am just doing the math for you :))
