so you can more accurately offset for wind making your approach shots double acccurate.

    Your stats would suggest otherwise.

Then ignore what I said; it would take me too much effort to care less.

I use the same method as Chinajohn and without the zoom and zooming again its hard to read the grid let alone see the flag on some of these greens.

We need our zooming feature back,I don't care about cheaters I only play Club Tournaments and We don't have any problems there

You see that's the difference between us; someone asked for advice I freely offered it with the disclaimer that I was not a big earner. The person who asked, offered his thanks (and said he would likely not change his game), end of story. You however, have to be a little old troll and come and try and flame the situation, does that give you a cheap thrill?

Now go back to your cave troll, you'll get no more responses from me.

    2. Offsetting for wind: each aim box (i.e. the blue box with the distance on) is 10mph from edge to edge or 5mph from the yellow triangle to each edge, of OFFSET wind from the perspective of the golf

Not sure what the '10mph' & 5mph means in context, John.

from I can figure the dark ydg/elev box is 5 yds on a side & is 1/2 the size of the pitching grid displayed for aiming approach shots. The grid is made up of 2ft squares.

the wind label i added was to illustrate the offset for an approach; the vertical black line 1.5 grid squares in on left of pitch grid is the pin position.

bob, the important point on this system is you must be looking from the golfer's point of view, i.e. from the position of the ball, not from another camera angle, at that distance a full aim box equals 10mph of lateral crosswind (so you have to calculate how much of the actual wind is lateral, there is a guide for that too), and then you have to look from the position the ball lies in, at that scale it works very well.

Of course from that distance often you cannot see anything very clearly, but if you use the flash zoom, you zoom in on a portion of the screen but everything stays to the original scale, (i.e. from the position the balls lies in) only now you can see more detail and so adjust your offset which still has the 5mph half box (so you can use the yellow / green triangle below the aim box) or 10mph for a full box, (links in heavy winds).

Edit: So to clarify, using your picture above you need to go back to where the ball lies and then look at the aim box (in this case with the 11ft elevation and 112yd numbers in it) from that position the full box will equal 10mph lateral wind and from the edge of the box to the green (in this example) inverted triangle will equal 5mph.

    notonthis:

Taking away to zoom is stupid plain and simple. Stupid enough to make me stop playing my timing of putts rely on me getting a good count and zoom helped alot.

Yeah sure blame it on the zoom. That has nothing to do with game freezing. Who is the head of programming lol. I dont believe that for one iota. Might help the meter spikes but how does zoom coincide with screen loading ?

ALSO HOW THE HELL DO I LOWER MY VIDEO IMAGE TO LOW ? I KNOW ITS IN THE GAME OPTIONS BUT IT WORKED BEST FOR ME CHANGING IT DIRECTLY FROM FLASH SETTINGS ???? Geezzzuzzz guys I see you gave it alot of thought huh ? Why not just take the zoom feature out alone ? Oh you didnt know how eh ?

Lets really see if it stops disconnects and what have you . Bet it doesnt.

We should all be careful to hang the person giving good advice in the Forums... Regardless of Status and Tiers....

I still watch and learn from people in Lower Tiers than myself :)

John ,I like giving advice where I feel it can be helpful, but I had a similar snarky jibe from someone who also questioned my stats.

Best to ignore and don't even  respond to their shite.

Stats mean stuff all now they have Best of Par 3's and 5's anyway
