It's my fault this thread has gone off the rails a bit but here's a really funny sounding version of Frère Jacque...

Well i use to say it this way: DORMIE = Win this hole or match is over and lost!, Well wgt use it sometimes wrong when it comes on last hole, cause a draw and that means extra-holes/ sudden death(SD). Often i type gl in SD on last tee if we are AS in alt-shot or a singlematch!

I heard it was a song about a pretty bird that is so pretty, you wish to remove the feathers from it's body ... starting from it's head.

Actually, when translated is a bit sick and twisted ... but then again, "Ring around the rosies" isn't the best image one can instill in a small child ... or "Rock-a-bye baby" for an infant.

Maybe that's why we all grow up and play games like this!

    "Ring around the rosies"

English plague victim song.  Never think of it that way as kids.

Then again in the UK every Nov 5 is Bon Fire Night, also known as Fireworks Night and Guy Fawkes Night.  Every year the "guy" gets placed on the bonfire and burnt.  As kids just a stuffed thing for fun, never related it to Guy Fawkes the person getting burned by King James.  How KJ found time when not passing on the word of God via the KJ Bible beyond me but:)

The real Guy Fawkes wasn't burnt. He was sentenced to be hung drawn and quartered but jumped from the scaffolding in an attempt to escape but fell to his death.

Quite right and shame on me for getting things mixed up a little there - long time since I studied that one.  The fires came about the same year, having checked, with people celebrating (or getting punished for not many would profer) the saving of their King...........Cheers my mistake:)
