HubieB: I know of no band from their era, or any era that just three guys could create so much sound, excitement and feeling in music.
Then thou knoweth not of MOTORHEAD. nuff said
Please, comparing Motorhead with Cream is like comparing Obama to Ronald Reagan - isn't even a contest. IMO Motorhead made noise, not music. With Jack Bruce's skill in vocals and the bass, the obvious talent of Eric Clapton on the guitar with his 'blues' oriented style and the jazz influenced technique of Ginger Baker on drums, Cream "made" music that laid the groundwork that others followed.
Of all the groups I had the pleasure of seeing in person during the '60's, aside from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, Cream would come next. Joplin, Hendrix, Vanilla Fudge, Bob Dylan and a slew of others were a joy. But that's just my opinion.
I'd still like to see a couple of 'mature' avatars to represent my profile more correctly.
