There's really no need to buy a lot of putters. My first buy was the L19 Spider (which some of the best players have said is really TOO good to be available at such a low level), and my second the L70 Odyssey. I read that a lot of the best players use the Odyssey, so I may not buy another unless I get so good that I'm winning so much credit that I don't know what else to spend it on.
BTW, if it matters, I'm a "try to hit the ding" putter most of the time, but my ability to do so is a bit compromised by my unsteady meter. On very short, hard-breaking putts I often use a combination of moving the aimer and deliberately missing the ding.
