    zagraniczniak:

It is clear that 9- and 18-hole ranked rounds go into the average. CTTH does not and match play does not.

Yes only 9 and 18 hole RANKED rounds count toward your average, and the 9 hole rounds are simply doubled to figure it out.

Currently my highest round that is counted toward my avg is a 66 so if I shoot anything lower than a 66 my avg goes down, anything higher it just stay the same.

Thanks, Now. Is it your understanding that one 65, for example, is equal to any other 65? In other words, it doesn't matter if that is a -7 on a par 72 course or a -5 on a par 70 course?

That's how it seemed to me, but I did not examine it so carefully.

Score relative to par doesn't matter, it's the total score that counts, you could shoot a 68 on a par 70 (-2) or 68 on par 72 (-4) and it is still counted the same, a 68.

Now I can only speak for the master tier as this is the only tier I have monitored the average on.  I know that once your average as a master is under 63 you will be moved up to tour master but I don't know if there is a certain number of ranked rounds you must complete before making that move, I will find out once I shoot under 66, I have 71 ranked rounds as a master and figure that 40 rounds was the mark you must achieve before moving to tour master if your average is under 63.  We shall see here shortly as I will be playing some ranked rounds hoping to move up to tour master.

Just as I suspected, I shoot a 32 (64) at St Andrews Wk 14 9 hole Single play tournament and my avg went from 63.03 to 62.98 moving me to tour master!

Thx Zag, now I just shot a 63 for my first TM round, I will continue to monitor each score like I did as a master and figure out how they compute the averages for Master.  What average do you need as a tour master to move up to legend?  I want to try to get to legend ASAP!

Apparently anything below 61 (and some minimum number of rounds at TM tier). I've been stuck at this level since being taken up in the "Rapture" in September. Under the new system the average slowly but surely comes down as long as you do occasionally make good scores.

I understand the only difference for you now is faster greens ('tournament'), but even at Oakmont they are manageable.

11 total ranked rounds as a tour master today, switching to the tournament greens is tricky but I will get use to it.  After those 11 rds with doubling the 9 hole round scores, I have a total of 728 shots, divide 728 by 11 rounds and you get 66.18 which is exactly what my avg is.  Now I'm curious to see when the high scores start getting thrown out.  As a master it was after 40 rounds, we shall see.

    Bilko,

Your close ... from the folks I've spoken to who made the jump ... the number is actually 60.99 to reach legend as long as you have a large number of ranked games played.  Not sure how many that is.

    Ahh, what's a .99 amongst friends. LOL
