    Hey guys, first post here,

I need some help choosing which irons I want to upgrade. My approaches need some help, and I figure upgrading irons will solve that problem. Are there any really solid lvl. 40-ish irons for me to buy? The K15s or Rocketballz, maybe? Thanks.

I'd wait a few more levels when you'll have a much better choice. Then start with wedges. Bear in mind though that you'll need 3 wedges when you reach the master tier so buy with that in mind.

At your level I would suggest getting some wedges first, some nice options available, either there ATV's, pings or Clevelands, all will make a big difference with your approach shots.

If can hold off till you make master and level up a bit more i would look at the G20's at level 59, and not just buy the irons but the whole set if you can afford too, works out cheaper plus you get matching meter speeds throughout your bag. Then sell back the hybrid and get 3rd wedge.

If you buy now, you will most likely replace these soon, many a player has made Master with starters.

I strongly agree to the wedge proposal, and the G20 are great clubs, too.

Alas, the time perspective is important from level 36 @19,515 XPs to level 59 @88,515 XPs.That is five weeks to play with 2,000 XPs per day. In between, each level becomes 100 points longer than the former.

Thus, it may be nice to have an intermediate solution.

The budget way, good for a Tour Pro, would be a strong 3WD replacing the driver. More costly but closer to your wish is the lvl 31 R11 iron set.

Again, the wedges are a no-brainer if you want to improve your game.

    Have fun!

Thanks again, everyone, but alas, I have yet another question. What yardage should my wedges be if I have the PW from the Ping G20s? 54, 60, 64?

the level 30 r11's can get you to legend tier.

If you are a severely talented human the max irons with highspeed.
or if you are a  normal player with some skill and sense. level 47 max clubs.

level 30 r11's are great clubs also with the spin and forgiveness and precision and price

L59 G20s will be a great choice that many (if not most) top players used well in to Legend with their high trajectory.

Wedge wise I would look at those L40s Pings considering the 100, 75 and 50 yard options if it were me.  By the time you throw in the punching capability of your PW and those three wedges as well you will have several good basic shots. EDIT: Don't forget topspin options to:)

Remember to learn punches and full shots (look in the forum) throughout the range of those wedges.  E.G my CG64 is rated at 60 full shot and 50 punched, but will go 32 yards full shot FBS and 22 yards punched at 60%.......... massage around that and understand flops, pitching and chips and you are well on the way to a whole array of capable shots.

I would also look at putters.  For me (so personal I know) the L35 Ghost is a little gem that will see you through to Legend by which time you will know more (ding or miss ding is a basic need to know), and can choose your final solution. In all honesty I do not rate the L19 spider although I don't think it quite as bad as some say.

EDIT: Alosso below speaks sense as usual.  In the end your choice :) I suggested the pings mainly because they are outstanding value, and will do the job well enough until replaced. I think 3 are ideal and at that price...your credits.

50, (75) and 100 are good spacings for a wedgs combo.
(75 in brackets because there are slight differences between the brands).

60, 80, 100 is being used here, too, but I personally like the shorter 50 yds club.

I'd start with two short wedges and only buy the third when the need (and the gap) is there. This also allows to wait for and select a high-end wedge of higher level, which have higher spinning and stopping qualities.

Okay, thanks for the advice from all of you. Here's what I'm thinking for the near-future:
The Ping lvl 42 wedges (60 and 85 yarders?), then save up for Ping G20 Full Set. And maybe from there save up for another putter, possibly the Odyssey.
