MainzMan: Maybe a new putter but given how good the current Odyssey and Nike ones are at L70 and 77 it would have to be seriously good.
Agreed basically. More choice for people to talk about can't be a bad thing though:)
MainzMan: It's hard to see how WGT can introduce anything new without making the scores really silly.
MainzMan: I'd happily give up my R11 irons. As long as everyone else does. And I suspect, therein lies the problem
I suspect to:)..........Sitting back with approaching a small fraction of 1/20th of the facts, and so empirically only I wonder where things can go. Obviously PP have not been beating investor's away with a sh%ty stick. If I looked at WGT as an investor |I would be asking about the possible longevity of any new product. Start out with sub optimal equipment and up with a long driver that is the most reliable club in the bag, and player's upset when their 3 iron does not stick inside 10 feet on a links course. Where to from there is indeed a good question. A major shake up of the Legend tier, and then equipment availability at the top end would encourage play IMO (loads my thought's on that all over the place). After that low hanging fruit (I can't get why they don't just pick those) it's investment. I suspect they are at least waiting on PP to enable to see if that's worth it or just take the money and run?
