    DannyMcFly:
    ball stopping pretty well

That's the bit I was really interested in:)

    DannyMcFly:
imho no significant difference in precision to R11

Good enough for me mate. I have wasted loads on clubs so far so was trying to avoid a complete wild goose chase lol.

Thanks to all for the comments. This one sealed it enough for me to wade in at the toy shop again LOL:)

I've only played the one round with it but it seems very similar to the R11 to me except of course for the much slower meter. I'll have to check the distance as it seems like it hits slighter further.

Can't understand why these clubs have come in other than to raise credits for WGT.

The trade off was always precision vs a fast meter / lack of forgiveness.

With these you have precision / slow meter / forgiveness vs credits.

I think overall the are better than the R11s,

    FWIW:

    INITIAL FINDINGS using L81 Nike:

Long St Gs 3rd Par 3

Stops just the same as the L84 R11 - very pleased with that.

From the tee I am averaging 250 FBS versus 244 with the R11.

Fways I am averaging 240 FBS same as R11.  More than a slight miss ding the yardage can pull up a good bit, but the line holds well.

I also tested this at Congressional Par 5 6th.  Played a 90% BS, 100% power shot for my 244 yard approach in to a just 6mph (slightly across) head wind, same as I would have done the R11.  Result was 1 yard from pin on a slight miss ding.

Thus far seems a good buy

I came up with similar figures, about a 2% distance increase.

Wow, does it really stop as well as R11, and not as badly as G20??

That for me is the most important criterion - would save a few eagles in Best of Par 5 :)

I'm 1.5 months away from L95 and the R11S wood still looks better, but if its trajectory is like R11(S), may be worth the cost...

All 3 woods from level 30 upwards have the same one dot of spin, so I think it stops the same.

The HL G20s true stopping power was not revealed by that IMO! I never found it to be as high trajectory as the HL R11 (never had the S version) and thus did not stop as well.  The L92 Max keeps stopping as I would wish so far. Personally I have not noticed any lack of precision so far either.

St Gs 3rd and BP 3rd to the long pin this club has stopped on a dime more or less, and certainly no different to the R11. Admittedly Beth maybe bot a great example, but as I think I said above cross wind at St Gs and stopped fine, and where aimed.

Also like I say I am comparing to the L84 R11 only.  Some time before I get to L95 and the R11S option.............

Definitely not. Stopping depends not only on spin but also on trajectory. E.g. take Kiawah-2 / Best of Par 5-1. It's basically impossible to stop there without substantial rolling using G20 but possible using R11.

I was comparing the R11 to the Max. They both have the same trajectory. :-)
