FWIW a few vids if anyone wondering.  Note tried vary the ding up with misses either side although the slight wind at Kiawah not enough to help much. Anyway they may help some one.

    1. St Gs...slight miss...I found sticks just as well with only a cross wind:

    Bought and quite disappointed.

Yes, it has a bit higher trajectory than G20, but it's a downside in a way, as now I can't make it go 265-270 yards, which is also very hard to achieve with the R1 driver...

It stops better if you aim 245-250 yards, but totally doesn't stop at 230-235 yards - made 3 shots like this, dinged 2 of them, all went to 245... Posted a terrible 71 for Best of Par 5 RG and now regret that didn't use 3 iron for these distances which is risky but at least it stops...

All below with L81 Nike and Legend Tourney greens.

The 230 - 235 from fway type yard range continues well:

The above had a slight (3mph) headwind.

In the mid 230 yard range off the tee for par 3s this thing also continues well:

Above had a 7mph L-R cross wind / Legend Tourney green.

Basically off the tee FBS it goes 250 @100% through to 267 NBS. From fways it will go 250 ish dot below neutral BS or full top spin.

Conclusion: Somehow (much sub 240 in to green) it arguably does not always inspire the same trust, on stopping sharply, as the L84 R11 does, although the above vids show it is serving me well enough. The longer tee distance, slow meter and general forgiveness will see it in my bag for now.

Just for clarity I am not trying to contradict any other post as they are indeed obviously valid. All this just what I have seen in the way I play my game, and not in a RG.

EDIT: And Finally proof positive ZIP, but luckily happened in a RR.

    Et Voila:)

Awesome shot Jim! Congrats on Double-Eagle, I was close on KIA:

For me slow meter, is what makes this club great, and I don't see any big differences compare to R11, in few days I'm very pleased with my new toy..

    Danny.

Yeah, awesome shot, but I'm not convinced about this wood.

The first 230 yarder has a green with uphill slope which makes it easier to stop.

The second one, if I remember correctly, isn't really 230, but effectively 240, as there is a difference in elevation.

The third one is pure luck, no merit of the club I suppose :)

Plus it's very hard to ding with such a slow meter when my irons are R11 and ball Nike RZN... So far I'm not happy with this club - haven't made a single eagle with its approach shot in the Best of Par 5 ready go.

The landing zone is slightly up, just intended as an example of what I am generally seeing.

Just meant as another Par 3 example.  It seems to stick / deal with par 3s just as well as the R11. I had already posted a par 3 one for St Gs, not up at all.

The extra distance the Max offers for long Par 3s is a real plus also for it IMO!

Double Eagle (I said it again lol) well yes:)

Personal thing obviously. I am fine with that bit - welcome it actually:)

There are a couple of other vids I posted in the thread.  I think, as I said anyway, there seems some minor difference in stopping power on approaches compared to the R11.  The vids I posted of the Kiawah and then the Conga one's about sum up what I am seeing including at the 230 mark - very minor IMO.

In the end each to their own, and I wish you continued success in those par 5 RGs which you are excellent at.  I do fully appreciate that latter part, which is why I am interested in any particular approach shot's you have in mind?.

Good player's thought's are always welcome, and so I thank you for all yours.

    Cheers

    Hi Enigma

Since you already have the big bertha level 89, i don't think you need the max level 92.

By far the big bertha is better and the extra 5 yards is a must for long par 3 and  lots of  par 5.

I make so much  eagle since the big bertha come up. We can  plays shots from 245 yards without  almost any roll  and have  eagle try inside 10 feets many time.

The L89 BB (same L97 one BTW) has a reputation for being erratic, and with good reason.  That said though mine does seem to be behaving OK lately - talking just dings of course, which is fair enough, and probably tempting providence, LOL.

The L92 Max vids I did were with the L81 ball.  The L61 would roll out a little more from fway, but all still v manageable from memory.

You definitely do not want the L84 R11 as that's just past it's sell buy date at your level with what else is around (appreciate you were not going for it but said just in case).  You are also not missing out on anything by not being at L95 / L97...Well OK the L97 is extra choice and some might carry it for specific courses / conditions, but that's personal and fine lines, and I am not so into it that I would remember to swap things over anyway, LOL....

Michel has good points, and I can only see a good reason to buy the L92 Max if you really can't cope with the L89 BB.  Basically you have compared the specs anyway, and that sums it up IMO.

Both are streets ahead of that L73 3W for what difference a 3W can make.
