  I like to vary my dings and my misses.  I am happy with the L70 Versa.  Personally the L77 Nike needed too hard an oomph on short putts for me, and the transition to not requiring that "oomph" was the bit I never liked.

  I would say though that ANY high level putter can be deadly in the hands of the right player who has taken the time to learn it.

  I have spoken to a few who have upgraded from the lower level Versa to they higher and they report more accuracy when required.  I can't report further on that having never had it but ding the L70 is deadly from 30 feet using even the 300 foot scale. (few times i read that right I KNOW). From say 17 feet I would use the 150 scale and enjoy a slow meter travel for that short distance back to ding or just miss as I choose. 7 feet away I would set it to 100 feet and etc......Not personally looking to change it, but accept good players are deadly with others.

  No shock there!.....The Rossa is still a top quality putter & was THE putter of choice for the very best player here before the ghost level 92 arrived....

  ...& dont forget, years ago the top guns never had the choices you mentioned as an option but still had fantastic putting stats...

  The reason i ask is i have both putters. Considering im a ding player, i find the Rossa much better than the Odyssey putter, despite the Odyssey putter having much better statistics, and costing a lot more.

  The Odyssey has 1.5 more dots of forgiveness than the Rossa, and 1.5 more dots of balance. Despite the stats, the Odyssey has a mind of its own at times, and i get worse results than i do with the Rossa. So much so, i have a very expensive piece of crap sitting in my bag, and i refuse to use it despite all the practice.

  The L70 Versa has been my worst equipment purchase yet. Not that it's a terrible putter...it clearly isn't. But I really have struggled to notice any benefit at all over the L33 version which I used previously. My putting stats haven't improved. I think I've been stuck on a 1.53 average since I got it.

  For me, it seems like the 100 ft scale and up are far more punitive for missed dings than the L33 was. I've scaled back a little, using around 20-30% power and my slight missed dings behave more like the previous version, with the added precision. I may eventually change my mind if I can adjust my game to be successful with the 30/60 meters.

  Guess I'm not the only one who noticed the lack of forgiveness. I may give the Rossa a try.

  I have got used to the Odyssey (but hung onto my Rossa just in case) and like it but............ yes, you are right a slight miss ding, which is particularly noticeable on straight putts, does send it mysteriously out wider when one would have thought the opposite.......mmmmm

  I don't think any one is right or wrong.  The OP highlighted that several very good players play very well using different putters.

  L70 Versa; Just talking personally if I had a 21 foot near flat putt (say missed the ding approaching at Beth 9) I would set my meter to 150 and hit at 11% (firm) on a Legend Tourney green. Miss the ding by a hair and putt missed, but the travel is slow and not far from 11% to ding. Balance wise (whatever pixel balance really is) my distance is always about bango.  The L70 Versa also holds it's line very well with whatever meter I choose (good precision).  A VERY long putt of say 60 feet at say St As 5 I will be close even if I miss the ding (forgives me enough).  A close 6 foot putt at sat St As 7 a slight miss to hold my line with a good firm putt is usual for me - does exactly what I ask.

  Honestly I think sometimes comparing a load of attributes with different putters can be a brain F. I would say decide what you style is try putters out that are clearly not the opposite (e.g. don't buy the L92 Ghost for miss ding style), and then spend a LONG time learning your putter.

  IRL balance covers several factors, and so how that really translates to the virtual world is something we can all get too wrapped in for naught IMO!

  The OP astutely highlighted that different good  putters all work in the hands of a top player.  Those top players do not swap putters too often. I would say decide on your style, try out a few that will suit having maybe waited for a free rental weekend and make your informed decision.  

  Once that is all done stick with that putter and learn it fully forsaking all others for a long time at least, and forget about virtual pixel 5 dot ratings. They all work once learned.

  Here is a little video i put together on the September putting sweeps. I am using the Rossa putter first, followed by the Odyssey. I forwarded to the 4th hole for each putt, as its probably the best hole to show the difference in both putters.The same ball is used with both putters (Cally, level 33).

  I am using the white collar on the players shirt for lining up putts, and the Players heel for the power of each shot. You should also see that when i do ding the Odyssey putter, its fairly good. But its the non dings that get me.

  The first 7 putts are with the Rossa, the next 8 putts are with the Odyssey.

  Now, some of you might say the difference is barely noticeable, but its those extra 1.5 dots of forgiveness that made me buy this putter in the first place, in the hope of sinking a few more putts than usual. So, despite the so called "more forgiving" attributes of the Odyssey, its clear to see that its a case of not being as forgiving as advertised. Those credits wasted could have got me 10 more sleeves of balls in the game.

  Given that i spent a lot of money on the Odyssey, and its clearly not as forgiving as the Rossa, then i think i have grounds for a refund on it? Dont you think?

  I bought the odyssey last week and it has yet to prove it is worthy of ownership. I have never, ever had so many putts skim the edge of the cup as I have with this flatstick. Suggestions are solicited.

  I am a combo putter whereas I miss ding / ding depending on green speed etc etc . For overall performance I vote the Level 77 Nike putter best as I have tried most of them. I do like the higher level Odyssey but if it aint broke why fix it.

  Maxwere purchased the Nike putter for me and I have never looked back and my putting stats have become normal over the last several months.

  Thanks for the video and do see your point.  I was thinking you never cleared your cache on equipment change, but whilst they say that is always a good idea I can't say that I would expect my L70 Odyssey Versa to behave any different. As I said that 21 foot flat putt would miss if I missed the ding, but  I set a long meter, and the slow back over a short distance helps me not to.  On shorter putts a slight miss helps hold the line, and on longer breakers (well 12 feet) a wider miss helps me with this putter more than other's I have tried - all basically said. 

  I don't play those putting comps personally all too often, and for my game I am happy with the putter for reason's stated.  

  The 5 dot description's are so broad and people have different perception's of what it really means and different expectation's / needs.  

  This is where I think (suggested before I know) WGT should let people rent stuff, but give you say  50% / 75% back if you buy it to save this angst. I know you can rent any way but it's expensive, and maybe that money back if buy may be a good working relationship. 

  Won't help you, and sorry you are not happy.
