You look at the golf channel avatars which are meant to be similar to the golf channel presenters for sale in the pro shop for 800 credits.  Compare that to what WGT want us to pay for custom avatars, $5000 doesn't this tell you about where WGT is heading?

Obviously WGT have the tools to build an avatar and wouldn't really take that long.  Even my daughters x-box has a custom avatar maker which she can make to look identical to her in a matter of MINUTES!  if WGT had photos of any of us i bet it wouldn't take that long with the tools they have to make an avatar and when you can buy the golf channel look a-likes for $8, $5000 sounds ridiculous don't you think?? Why doesn't WGT acknowledge that no one will pay that much and bring the price down to some thing players might actually buy.

I also had a nice chuckle at the price of the golf channel balls, $1.25 for balls similar to the 10c wgt balls..LOL....WGT does have BALLS!

I'll only believe this when I see one. This offer is too obviously a "you don't wanna buy me" item,  just like the Maserati was. The latter had an absurdly high credit value (7 Mio?) which the keenest gamers here would not be able to achieve in the presumed lifetime of this site.

The former is presented so half-hearted and unmeaningly that nobody would buy it having the credits. It says "choice of hair" - you can't even tell if a cap would be possible!

It would be nuts to pay a fortune of bucks for a bunch of pixels (licence only), alas it's not money but credits. It aims at the keenest of keenest who don't know what to do with their excess credits, but since they don't wanna sell it why demand less?

This is nice marketing, I didn't even notice it. Golf Channel, what is Golf Channel for? asks a European :)

Likely it takes longer than we can imagine for a custom avatar Chris and was costing them a large $um for the GolfChannel avatars.

Sources tell me WGT is almost done with the newest avatar.   The preview below of their next celebrity avatar shows they tried to save some $ by cutting corners.

Can anyone guess who the next celebrity avatar is?

Roger Moore as The Saint with a hat as a disguise?

Edit: Stupid me it's David Leadbetter

Actually Chris that ball is closer to the 100 credit slow meter starter ball. Both 10 credit balls are better than either of the other 2 except for having no feel.

I am hoping for another David with a great sense of humor.

Plus as I told Shoe a few weeks ago I would love to see a World Golf Hall of Fame line of Avatars. But that most likely won't happen due to legal issues.
