Just purchased this iron set, and did very well at Kiawah. Later I tried them in alt shot matches and had the worst time on approaches. I kept missing ding, hooking most of the shots. (hitting late).   I had been using WGT balls all this time...and then when I forgot to purchase new ones, I was stuck with a starter ball and the meter was absolutely flying! Terrible for my game, and embarrassing for my opponent I'm sure.

I just purchase Tour-S balls, and it's not helping. They're not like the first balls I used with these irons, I think they were GI-Ds.

I am desperate for help in finding the right balls for this iron set. I can't keep scoring high like this.  I've never used anything but WGTs.

Further I'm saving for a great wedge but I really have to solve the ball issue first.

I'm afraid its a case of trial and error, and its a case of more dots of feel the slower your meter will be.

Maybe work your way through the wgt balls starting at the 2 dots of feel and cheapest upto the higher cost 2 1/2 dots.

If your currently using the Tour GI-S balls , these have only 1 dot of feel. I would personally try the G12-S balls first.

    Hope this helps somewhat.

I was also using the GI-SD WGT balls all this time until i bought these Rocketballz clubs.

I find that the meter is almost impossible to control, and they do are embarrassing to play in alternate shot games.U just miss a little and ball land 15-20 yards from the pin.

Try Srixon zstar L11 balls, they are a bit costly but meter is less dodgy with these.

I use the lvl 79 Bladez and have for a while, I use the Lvl 33 Calloway tour i(s) ball (now discontinued) but apparently the Hex equivalent is exactly the same (I'll find out next week when my stock of i(s)s runs out), they're both 250Cr a sleeve and I think that is the combination most people use. The higher level Nikes are the best ball but that comes at a serious price (450Cr + ). The 180Cr Srixons are OK too.

+1 I currently use the Srixons 11+ balls , and they do play well . Also , looking at your clubs , you will need 3 wedges , for a better game . I would suggest you get the following 3 wedges . 54w- 105 yards , 56w-90 yards , 60w- 75 yards . Stick with the Pings for now , as you cant beat the price .Hope this helps . Good luck with your game. Happy Swinging :-)

Can't beat the Ping wedges, best for the money. I do have to correct you on one thing, by hitting late you're slicing not hooking.

What you want are balls with more feel than the GI-D's you were using.

GI3-D's would be a good upgrade for you. Although they don't have as much durability, as  a result of more feel.

Although they are the most expensive and a few bucks more they should improve your reaction times with your new irons. Try the Nike 20XI-X RZN Vapor Balls (Level85+) which will give u a slower meter, great distance and the most Backspin for your money. Or the Max black balls for the most feel providing the slowest meter but a little less backsin and distance.

     fantastic new club website here

I use the lvl 79 Bladez and have tried most combinations of ball. these would be my recommendations, what I have found works for me.  budget balls i use for knocking out practice rounds, mulligan rounds.

budget ball = WGT GI3-S, callaway lvl 33

mid range = callaway lvl 33 or 35 for distance

higher end  = Nike RZN (i'm currently using the lvl 61 ball) callaway lvl 34 ball

Top end = pretty much any of the Nike offerings

    Tal

Guy is "saving" up for a wedge and you're suggesting he use 600CR balls?

Of course the top ball is going to improve his game but you're comparing apples and rocks here bud.

If  u read the OP`s post his immediate objective is to solve his ball dilemma with his existing irons BUD :

OP`s quote:  (  Further I'm saving for a great wedge but I really have to solve the ball issue first.)
