I'm one of those players always looking for something new and better.  Face it, we're limited on here.  And using the Cleveland's, I learned don't attempt backspin unless you believe it's necessary.  Though I don't know why.  But for me so far, the ability to take the 64 degree wedge, and take a ball out of the sand, has dropped a stroke or two.  To me, that's a big plus.

Sounds good, PD. I dread bunker shots. I either hit it too hard or not enough. I would like to have more confidence when playing bunker shots. Every now and then I do a good one, but I know if I'm in a bunker that's a dropped shot. I wish I could improve that aspect of my game.

Yeah, that's me.  Dropped shot, just get it close enough to save face!  Its nice to have confidence in a club when you're attempting something you don't feel good about, that's for sure.  It didn't take a lot of practice for me either.  But its well worth the buy.

I have not played the Cleveland's but the ATV's are great wedges imo. I am looking at level 89 and licking my chops :-)

    You are convincing me, PD.

You seem to like them, Rooster. I think they might be worth the risk. I might just buy one and see how it works.

I never used the CWs, everyone I saw using them were spinning the ball back much too far. I picked up the ATV set last week and like them very much. My sand game has always been at 60+% and greenside I use the 64 degree wedge (any make) and hit it full using 50% = 16 yards

    JasonNumber100:
    They are unpredictable.

They are actually very predictable, You just need to spend the time learning how they will react in different situations.

I have used the ATV's and prefer the CG's. I am by no means saying that is correct, it's just a personal preference. I'm sure there are quite a few players that prefer the ATV's. I don't think there is a wrong or right, whichever you choose, just practice practice, practice. That will take the "unpredictability" out of which ever you choose.

That is because most people when they first got then added spin. With neutral spin or even a little top spin the CG's hit and stop quickly even when using the punch. As for the ATV's, I found them slightly inferior to the old Z-Satin wedges they replaced at 3 times the price. The are not quite as consistent as the old Z-Satins.

I'd forgotten about the punch.  Now with the CW's, they usually always did what you needed.  That is a definite plus.  I haven't tried to punch these Level 92's yet so I guess I'm off to see the Wizard of Greens and see what happens.  Sure hope they work as well as they do out of the sand.   I think the two main points on the ATV's and especially the 64, is the slow meter and that it's only 50 yds max.  So hitting right where you think it will be best is easier to hit

    That is a good point.

I've never done punch shots. I think I may have done one once, when I was trying to keep the ball low under a tree. Otherwise I don't see a need to use a punch shot.

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong with the Clevelands. I only ever do a full swing or a flop.
