Jason, if you already have the Clevelands, I would stay with them. Jimbog's observation is quite correct...it probably makes no differance between the two brands...both are top shelf performers and neither provide the player a clear-cut reason to switch.

I'm toying around with the idea of changing from the CG's just simply because I'm sick of the painful spin bite.

Im just so used to the yardages.  What's the punch yardage of the 75 yd ATV?

Maybe I'll start off with just the 50 yard wedge for the days I feel like running 4 wedges.  See how much I like it and go from there.

The top ATV's have punch distances of 83,62 and 41.

62 if I remember correctly.  The 100 yard is 83 and the 50 yard is 41 yards.  The full shot spacing on them is just ideal if you have the R11 irons, throw in the punch and you really don't have many excuses for being far from the hole for any shot less than 100 yards.

I use my 64 degree ATV for pretty much any off the green shot between 10 and 41 yards, up to 43 if I give it a bit of top spin.

I find top spin is the one thing they don't do as well as the Clevelands.  Using full t/s they could get an extra 7-8 yards, the ATV struggle to do much better than 4, if that.

Overall they're great, probably not worth nearly 5 times the old Z Satins but if you're a gear freak like me........

I'm going to stick with the Clevelands for now. I've only just discovered the punch shot, which works okay. I'm struggling too much as a Legend to risk changing at the moment.

It's not just OK it's deadly accurate.

CG64 60% power FBS = 22 yards punched as just one an example, don't just think full power punched.  All clubs have to be learned and especially wedges...With practice those Cleves are deadly from a 5 yard down hill chip (with the CG64) through to 110 yards wound up with top spin (CG56), and not one yard missed along the way........

    Thanks, Jimbog.

I got your message about the Clevelands. That was some good technical info, thanks.

First off, thanks for the punch yardages to both you and Courteney. (yep, made sure I spelled her name correctly, I've been around long enough)  ;-)

Those yardages make the decision a little easier for me.  I was worried most about the 75yd vs 80yd differenece but the punches make up for the 80 and the 60 yd shots nicely.

Secondly.... me, a gear freak???  No way!  nuh uh, not me no no.  ;-)

Edit**  after some luck with a few more surveys, I just picked up the 50 yd ATV.  :)

The 50 yard ATV is like a magic wand. You just wave it and the ball jumps into the hole :-)
